Hmm and they depend on the big truck sales! What is the discussion on the inside about Barra still being the CEO , why isn't she fired already? Anyone?

Simple math. 4,000 layoffs = 4,000 fewer customers, not to mention their friends and family.

the Studio and Engineering process is broken and needs an overhaul. I am convinced that GM cannot design and build decent products that are competitive. Bean counters are driving our products, not the customer. Until the Executives are replaced, nothing will change. Why the Execs were barely touched by the layoffs indicates where the core problem is.

People do NOT want electric cars or autonomous anything ! They want to drive cars and trucks. 4×4 Jeep , I had a Sr manager tell me years ago GM should have acquired Jeep , I agree with that. Now because of this CEO our sales are in the toilet , sales friends at dealerships have told me GM is a dirty word and customers are p-ss-d. Going out of business and soon to be bought by China.

Agreed, we need to reup our 4x4 vehicles. Upgrade time. We own five vehicles, well six technically, but time to upgrade two of them. Guess which automaker has been excluded from the field?

Blame MB folks. It has been excluded from the choices. Mary, if your reading this, we NEVER forget. We didn't forget when Rick did the same in his time.

Go grab your azz a shovel, GM is about to be the first big three put out of business.

There is no CEO on this Earth that could ever save GM let alone build confidence in it's employees or customers , it's a done deal , any company that fires employees at random after Max profits right before Christmas , Are you serious? This company is done . Ford belongs in the Ren-Cen or FCA but certainly not Communist Motors

We should do random phone calls to GM dealers and ask , like one or two . I'd be curious to see what the sales team and management of the dealership has to say. Never will I give my money to GM for anything , ever. I feel bad for the people in the dealership today. Damn interesting times we are living in , I'm sick of seeing our people , Americans having to suffer.

Probably no one was thinking about GM when they bought trucks from other companies.

They're just better trucks.

I would love to see feedback from customers that bought Ram and Ford. I wonder how many of their sales were because of GM's business decisions.

Good that sales dropped 👍 and hopefully they will continue to sink. The slave labor in communist China can have GM and so can the Mexican government. Globalist companies like GM benefit the elite and not America. Boycott and do not support GM remember that you were laid off during Christmas and the blood letting isn't finished just yet. Good bye to Garbage Motor Co.

In the mean time , FCA truck sales were up !

I think GM will feel the pain of their unnecessary and shortsighted layoff while paying executives huge compensation. Nearly every citizen in this country is aware of the layoff of GM employees while having huge profits. That sounded very greedy. And who wants to support greedy people.

The company just accelerated a trend downward.

Mary Barra dismissal would slow this trend almost immediately. The new CEO would have some work to build the confidence back towards his employees ... and the population that used to support GM.

Less truck sales is part of the not so good for business but great for virtue signalling zero emissions, zero crashes, zero congestion future that the ceo promised. Less truck sales=less emissions=more virtue signalling. Mission accomplished.

It isn't due to gas prices.

Lower demand.

I've bet my boss that we'll see $5 gas within 6 months.

There will be a mad scramble for Volts at that point. Oh, wait, we dont make them any more.
