3XSQ is going away - notices in Sept, execution by December.
When I say 3XSQ, yes, all in the NY office.

Man so the Bangalore move is happening? That s---s.
Making sense and Refinitiv in the same sentence.. does not compute.
What about sales and client facing groups. Are you actually saying there will be no client facing groups at all in NYC? The office may and can move to NJ...but not having anything in NY that isnt client facing....That part makes no sense.....
I heard something similar. Although it was only that the managers are the only ones left until March of 2020. To basically manage Bangkok staff and performance.
Gradual move to Bangkok and then Bangalore by 2021.
When are peoplebgoing to be notified?
From what I'm understanding from the person I spoke to, out of the building AND outsourced, I believe. Meaning, ops/dev will be given severance and their jobs will be moved to BKK and then a year after, Bangalore.
I don't see any value in Refinitiv getting just moved to another location in the East coast if the current goal is to save lots of money
Out of the building or outsourced? Which area?!
Operations and dev are both going to be outsourced.
Is it just the ops staff or is development also being outsourced? Does anyone know?
How many floors do we (Ref) still have at 3XSQ?
2nd (HR) is shared with TR, 3rd 6th, 7th, 8th, 13th? Am I missing any floors?
Data is just the beginning.. aside from layoffs
As I understood it, St. Louis, Bangkok and Bangalore will become the strategic technical and operations sites. I heard some headcount will open up in St. Louis, so perhaps some people there will get a chance to do the needful as well. A good bet is to keep checking on internal and external job postings. You'll be able to get an idea of what's happening when key roles start opening up in the next few months in those locations. I'm guessing they will try to get as many people out of 3XSQ by end of year 2019, but leave a skeleton clean-up crew of a few local and/or remote people for a couple more months into 2020, at which point they will be gone as well.
When they going to close down Hong Kong development ?
What about St Louis?
Can we be clear on what we mean by “all” please?
This sounds official. Which groups have already been notified?
Haha I was about to post the move to Bangalore but I guess someone beat me to it. So yeah, all of NY will be shutdown and moved offshore, specifically to India where they pay people 1/10th of what we make and work 18-hour days and still be happy about it.
Remember folks, data is just the beginning.
I can imagine the operation being moved out of NYC. Other than that, no! We might have a smaller office with a reduced amount of staffs. Bare in mind, a lot of people were/are working remotely already. As a pioneer in Financial Data Service company, we will still need to have a fair representation in NY, but it does not necessarily we need to be at this prime location (Times Square).
You mean all of us who now work at 3XSQ will lose our jobs? Or do you actually mean by moving from 3XSQ to a different building in NYC or Hoboken?
I find it hard to believe that a Financial data company would not even have an office in NY (Financial Center) of the world. Not even Brexit can cause us to leave London.
NY? Come on!
It is a headlining move to have your hq especially as a data company leave NY and only in London if this is the intention. More regulations. Right now hq is in both.
Why change the US hq?
The reason why F&R comes to this is quite clear, no? Lack of vision. Always short on their long term strategy or give up right in the middle of it. I guess they only want to deal with data now.
They can’t just sh-- off all functions in NYC. Sales in particular! It does not make any sense....
Will all functions under Refinitiv be physically moved to another country or Hobo (which is just as bad)? This is by December and announced in September? Hundreds of people will lose jobs if this is true.
It’s all of Refinitiv at 3XSQ
That does not cover all Refinitiv functions in NY, right?
Just heard this from someone close to who will make the announcement. They are totally closing NY operations and will move all to either Bangkok or Bangalore. Entire Eikon support staff will be outsourced to IBM and TCS.
Such a sad day for F&R.
May be we are going to move to a Black Stone bldg in NY after a further staff reduction later this yr for client facing folks. The rest to Hobo.
It is getting out of hand, too be honest. You have to see some of the men’s rooms. I feel bad for the cleaning staffs as they have to clean the nasty stuff on the wall. Someone intenionally trying to flood the restroom with hand towels. I wonder why these type of people are still with the company and not being let go earlier!
That seems about right. All the coffee makers and water machines (2 each) are now broken, some for weeks. There is no clean water or hot water available on the 3rd. Desks are crammed together in some spots with even a few people sitting up facing a wall - yes, the desk sits against a wall with the person facing this white slab of drywall. Depressing, disgusting and perfectly in line with DC saying last week that he plans to reward the hard workers, oops, I think he meant the ELT.
Tell me about it. We have rodent issues on some of the floors. And it seems like some people just don't care anymore or they do it purposely. The cleanliness in the restrooms are the worst compare to other offices I visited such as London and Tokyo offices. I am sure someone are doing that purposely here, it is a disgrace!
15th Floor was recently given up and 12th Floor last year. I used to be 17th, nice and new. Now, one of the lower floors. Old and Dark :(
No one wants to work with hobos
Hoboken, here we come!
People are looking to leave. Stop rushing us
So which floors are freeing up?
What about all the sales positions in NY?
The poster is correct and also the Bangkok roles are being transferred to Bangalore too. The Bangkok team have always struggled and highl attrition there too and worse English than the Bangalore folks.
Do the IT staff tend to stay for more than a year in Bangalore these days ?
I remember dozens being trained up in uk many years ago and within a year most had left.
Good luck with that :-)
Having seen the quality of operations that come from Bangalore previously.
