Heard some rumors about the possibility of large scale layoffs occurring in may. Then again, I hear a rumor for almost any month of the year. Any more info on the alleged layoffs in may? If so, Is there any concrete info what departments might be hit?

How could you expect peace of mind from a site called The Layoff ? Go outside and take a walk or something along those lines if that is what you seek. You should already know this as an adult.

California Central Valley to lose 35-45 Premmies at Fresno and BField this quarter. SoCal at large to get about 1000 Field cuts in 3rd quarter.
No one knows jack squat, but you can make guesses based on history. Large reductions usually happen when they want to get people off payroll by quarters end. Just count back about 75 days from a quarter end. So the next dates (if it even happens) mid-July or mid-October.
We probably would have already been told of anything major if they wanted a large group off payroll by 6/30.

@1uxu nailed it. This is The REAL PROBLEM. 20000 US jobs LOST BUT T is hiring OFFSHORE. and now that T effectively OWNS the media this is not getting reported.
All you people who make fun of others looking for peace of mind need to back off. Tension and stress is high this year and people are just reaching out to see if anyone has info. Kind of why all you are here scrubbing the boards. High and mighty mind sets. Good grief.

Rumor? Surplus approximately 20,000 US employees and hire 18,600 employees off shore. Next report to the SEC will only show a loss of 1,400 employees total.
