The smart thing to do is ask for volunteers wishing to retire early and bridge then to retirement. I've heard a lot of people would sign-up if it was an option.

Well said @XoZtvUn-4sbe and so very true
Hey XoZtvUn-3ifx, you should take a good hard look at the foolishness you wrote. It’s us 20,30,40 years and above folks who built this company! We are not high powered executives, we are in the field in the trenches dealing with all sorts of things over our tenure that would make you millennials c-ap your pants. We are not asking for anything but respect. Which we gave and earned. You would have never been able to handle what we’ve done in our careers. You’re too interested in Snapchat, Facebook and instagram. Most of us worked hard saving and earned that pension. You sound, bitter and jealous. Perhaps you should remember you are not all that, and a bag of chips
Only a baby millennial would disparage the people who poured their hearts, time and soul into this company for the past 20-30 years. No one was or is asking for a handout only to get the same respect back as we have given. Only the cry baby millennials will screw anyone and everyone when they don’t get what they want when they don’t deserve it
All of these comments are just reiterating that the sh--ty Boomer generation only cares about themselves. Who are the execs/who is in power? The boomers. They will screw each other and the younger generations to ensure that the few at the top get to keep their fat paychecks and their financially unsustainable lifestyles
Oh yes Pepsico will do good by it’s long time employees with a sweet retirement incentive package. Just like they took care of us when they removed the bonuses for people under L10, the matching 401k payments and the stock options for anyone under a band 1. Oh yes the company will take care of us. The executives get the riches and we get the droppings.
Such a well run company, my favorite memories are going on stupid pointless trips to dude ranches in Arizona for pointless team offsites where absolutely nothing was accomplished, except we got to interact with some tame Tarantulas. Then the next year going to Disney World for another total waste of shareholders money offsite, except for getting a picture taken with Goofy. The "servant leadership" at Pepsico has been brilliant.
Bring it on. Please!!! This nonsense has me talking about the good old days when we enjoyed dominating the market. Now it's all about what group we are celebrating in our work force this month, and manipulating numbers to make 13 scorecards look good.
Work smarter , not harder. Do just enough. Too many 20 and 30 somethings do next to nothing all while complaining how overworked they are. Not all are like that, but quite a few are. Luckily I’m near the end and retiring. I planned well and have a nice 401k and pension. Hoping I’m one of those whose job goes away just to get severance and bridged. But if not I have a plan in place. It’s too bad as this once was a great company to work for. I’m doubtful it will ever return to that level.
That would be far to easy and humane. I am sure it far more fun to see people squirm for months to see if they have a job. Just a tactic to use to get people to work hard. Fear seems to be the choice of our leadership.
I wish they would but I cannot remember the last time Pepsico did that
