I’ve been through layoffs before, and the week to review paperwork sounds like someone that’s heard about the process but not been through it.

In places that I’ve seen it before, the walk out the door is that day. But you have 10 calendar days (typically) to review and sign off on the severance package. Don’t know if GM is different on that timing, but when it’s time to go you’ll be out the door that day. The rest is just paperwork.

You WILL NOT get a 1-week advance notice of your layoff. You are high. It will be a tap on the shoulder and an escort to the door with an HR rep, your manager, and security. Get Santa Clause and the Easter Bunny out of your head.

What makes you so sure? Just wondering if you can credit your info at all.

notices start next week, then layoffs the week after. Employees get a week to review the paperwork to get severance.

@XaYbjtS-qao - The only groups that seem to have heard anything are engineers IT and marketing. Outside of those areas we don't know who else will be affected, if anyone
