Once a company starts with cost cutting through layoffs, that usually turns into a first response solution for any problems that might arise - whether they warrant it or not... I don't think PayPal will be any different.
I think all of us here can kiss job security goodbye from now on...
PayPal needs new blood. They have run out of ideas and what was once innovative is now holding the company back. But it is the leaders that should change. Firing staff like this wont do any good and will only shift the same work around to be handled by the existing staff. Meanwhile nothing will really change - it will just make the numbers look better, temporarily.
Agreed. In addition, if the company is laying off employees to offset a slow down in revenue, that will only work for the next quarter’s earnings report. You can’t just lay off people every quarter to manipulate the numbers. PayPal no longer innovates, that is the real problem.
I have hopes for the friends that stayed. I wish this doesn't happen to them
