Will the core local phone business be kept together or sold off in pieces to other telcos? Who might buy all or some of it? Are some areas in better shape or worth more?

Electric companies are about to come into all of our ilecs. They will soon be worthless
Buy a customer base? Windstream doesn't even own the facilities. The Reit does. No one wants it. Margins are to low low.
Obviously some local markets are more attractive than others. Also there are lILEC markets that could be turned around pretty quickly if an owner with a clue had them. It just depends on what WS still owns all the BS with the unions etc. Nobody is going to buy a customer base in an area with a leased OSP. A lot of it comes down to what’s really left to sell?
@XWSej43-qeg Frontier is on their last leg as well. They dont have enough money to purchase the ILEC. They've bought too many sinking ships over the last few years. The only thing that has stopped them from bankruptcy so far is that they haven't lost $310 million in a court ruling.
Initially You would keep your job.
frontier and consolidated are candidates for purchasing the ILEC.
No one has any answers to that question.
