Anyone hear if management in stores will be severanced out this year? MTM's? Figured with the restructuring of ap/ops from last year and them taking over some of the mtm's role, this was the writing on the wall.

I believe this is how bloomngdalea does it now (as noted in last post)
Also goes along with the previous thread stati g receiving wil now work 12pm-9pm as opposed to coming at 6am when store isnt opened.
This is how Macy’s was about 20+ years ago. Teams did it all. They signed, put out stock, sold. It was a better time with more knowledgeable sales people because they did it all. Very interesting. Too bad I’m not there any longer to relive those glory days.
From my understanding the MTM position will transition into a Sales Manager position. At this point Sales managers will be responsible for the signing, markdowns and new merch put away of their assigned area (think shoe or jewelry complex). Support team will also be absorbed, there will no longer be a sales and support team, just an integrated work force. If you are a colleague scheduled at 6am you will be assigned a task such as signing etc. This is the neighborhood store/ integrated workforce pilot model that is in place now. I imagine that it will be rolling out to more stores very soon.
Has anyone heard anything about their position, as mtm, being severanced out yet? How can it be done under the radar?
but MTM's do so much--who will handle all the planning, execution, scheduling of support associates, and directing pricing/signing? Honest question.
MTM position is being phased out. Company waited until the AP/OPs position had a year in.
Test stores have already eliminated the MTMs as the writing was on the wall.THis will be done under the radar and will be complete by the end of Q2.
HR is no longer in store but that doesn’t mean there are no layoffs. Everything goes to the VPSM’s. They are having these conversations with impacged colleagues.
@X9zKLzf-5cty, prove it.
what is your supervisory job? if it really happened, you would have said what your job was.
"HR" doesn't exist in the stores any longer. So who told you that your job was gone?
This definitely happened to me today A week after inventory was over hr said I was getting laid off of my supervisory position. They played me!!!😔
Any change in leadership is being done through attrition vs severance this year. Don’t expect a big announcement
Very true...I always thought the same thing too. Especially with the ap/ops restructure last year. That was horrible
Yep, totally surprised that there has been no cascade, yet. Previous poster is probably right. I never understood why we were cascading terrible news of consolidations, closings, and eliminations during the peak of inventory preparation. It’s led to loss of focus and a “I don’t care” attitude during an important business process. Cascade will come, just later than usual.
I think everyone is still waiting to hear. I figure announcements will happen soon. I'm surprised nothing has been released yet, but maybe they got smart and realized that telling people they were losing their jobs right before inventory wasn't the best move. Hurry up and wait.
