Thread regarding Sabre Holdings layoffs

Who will suffer the consequences of Menke’s changes?

You may like, or not like Sean Menke, but you gotta admit that this guy has ambition and almost frightening willpower.

I just read this article on Menke’s ”bold and brilliant” strategy for Sabre’s future. I admit when they put it like this, most moves of the management, do make sense to me. Conveniently enough, the article had no mention of how many people the company had to let go last year, much less of how many more the company is going to lay off, for this Menke’s strategy to succeed.

Have you seen his resume? Not arguing, just curious what makes you think it would be fake.............

Menke, how's VS doing in that CIO position? Bringing in cronies with fake resumes from the outside does nothing for moral. Only promoting minorities is reverse racist.

The worst CEO’s are those that just focus on cost savings. That’s what SM’s background has always been. So how can you expect his leadership at this company to be any different ? He’s never learned how to sell or how to innovate to sales. It’s not his background.

Yes we need change, but we really need it at the board level first.

What do you mean most moves of the management make sense?

Their "strategy" keeps the same: inflate the stock price as much as possible and then cash out.

As you can imagine, this does not help Sabre long-term nor the employees.

The article isn't terrible. But when I read “I’m laser-focused on two things: talent and how to enable it,”... I'm sorry, I couldn't stop laughing.

What is his nick? Does Sabre has any growth or increasing sales? No, sales are down...In the same article he refers to stock. He inflated earning per share by firing 1000 employees. This is success? Hahahaa you don’t need a “CEO with bold vision” for this, any kid will beat this success. With a new CFO he will continue playing with the numbers. The main question is for how long? Maybe 6 months... What’s he going to do when institutions dump his stock?
