Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Receiving/Clerk's/Claims

Those who are going to stay. Can you tell us why? Even if you like the change, you know that will be readjusted not far down the road right? They will end up cutting another person until nobody is needed anymore. Not trying to down anyone. Just curious.

I was told if you take another job in the company your pay will stay the same. I think because it will be a forced move. Please ask your Manager.

I know this is a difficult situation we're in but please do not hold on to any anger. Let it go. It is not healthy. Take a deep breath.

As disappointed as I feel I'm keeping a positive and level head and turning this into a new adventure. Is it scary? Oh you bet! But I will not let them take me down when they're falling themselves.

23 years of blood, sweat, and tears. I am done. I have so much anger I don't know what to do anymore. We were so busy today with late trucks and people over hours and can't imagine handling everything by myself and keeping my sanity.

Some will stay for medical benefits. S

Also the pay is level c so there will be no money lost for claims, lead, and office associates. The dock partner will get a raise.

It doesn't make sense to stay. There is no position in the club where I wouldn't be taking a huge pay cut. After 26 years it is difficult to start over. I am 3 years away from retirement. I guess I'll take the payout. That will give me time to find something else. It's just a job. We turn it into relationships because we're human. The company wants something else. Money. They are trying to not be Sears. It is very unfortunate about the Sam's share tho. We are super maxed. I'm trying to not be bitter. I knew it was coming. Trying to keep a level head.

For anyone leaving make sure to find a place for your 401k. If you don't roll it into another one the government will take close to a third of it. Good luck & God bless to all my fellow left behinders.

The ones who can't decide are the ones who stay. For me it will be easy to decide. I will not stay and end my career with this company. It wasn't me who wanted that. It was the company. Confirm or deny, it doesn't matter. The actions show different. They do want to get rid of long term associates. We all know it. This new position is going to be changed up so much that we will all be miserable. . And the changes are not going to stop. We are just there to smooth out the bugs for their new system. Go ahead and become a backroom associate. Those days are numbered too

It's a hard decision when you've been with the company 3 decades but if you look at it this way it wasn't hard for the company to let you go your just a dollar figure to them. Yes we will miss all our work family but change is good. Sam's is not finished downsizing and changing, work will continue to be placed on all the long timers shoulders because they know we will do the task.

It is a hard descion to make 30 yrs of service about 2 weeks to decide. There will always be that question leave or go and what the future holds with either descion. We knew it was coming and the anticipation was tough but the descion making is even harder. Dec 6th will come and go it's like your in a bad storm waiting for it to blow over.

I wish you all peace of mind it will soon be behind us the days will come faster as we approach the end.

I’m still undecided. This is so hard because I’ve been with the company so long. I love the people I work with. The PTO and pay is nice, I get any time I need off, and I pretty much get whatever and whenever I need off of work even if it’s last minute.

Does everyone else’s clubs have interviews next week? I don’t know if I can decide by then!!

Put it this way. Anyone thinking of staying. Pretend instead that it was your club closing. There were no other options but to find something else. It's not as hard as it seems to take the jump and get away from this family.

Just bought a house. Not sure about staying at all,let alone in back, but pretty sure no matter where I go in the club, I'd still have to do the job and train the people. Except for less of course. But still undecided...
