I've heard some store managers have (temporarily?) removed all part time staff from their schedules. Leaves some pretty expensive cashiers.

We scheduled what we need. We have the main store and secondary location. impossible on $2300.
Screw the labor budget. Customer Service and Campus Relations come first. Bottom line end of story.
All these stories are happening during an otherwise robust economy. While we're seeing some fraying on the edges, the economy seams strong heading into the holiday shopping season.
What happens when things become tight? This company isn't growing and expanding when times are good. Can it even last another down cycle?
If you're younger than 50, put together a good resume and find another job! If the economy softens, jobs will be harder to find. If you don't do it now, you're in for a world of hurt sometime soon.
I agree. We should not be expected to work more than 40 on a regular basis. I work over 40 during rush and buyback, but other than I try to keep it at 40.
Yep.. 40 hrs go home. If you work more than that figure out your pay/hr. That will tell the story. Don't work for nothing!! Listen to those that have been there, don't suffer and regred later. You will look back smiling as you moved on to a better life.
This dude needs to chill. Do your job to the best of your ability without sacrificing your health or your family time.
New manager complaining about not enough time to get work done.Guess what? You are salary ! You work MINIMUM 40 hours. The bet is already on that you don't last til Spring rush!! Also if there us NO money for staff you work alone!! Be a role model and don't complain to those whose hrs where eliminated and who do all the grunt work for minimum wage.
Starting to convert temps to permanent, who has time for hr nonsense rehiring, etc. especially with programs that are a nightmare to navigate & NOONE from hr ever gets back to help.
You are correct, all non management staff is gone. Quite difficult to get adoptions and other work accomplished. It's October and staff won't be back til January. Not enough payroll for 2 people, paycheck is insulting, can't believe I'm so stupid to work for frickenfollett. Time to move on!
