The Lakeville office had the best lunch table. Just a bunch of co workers talking about life. It is the only thing I miss about State Farm.

We’ve been paying attention since March 5, 2005 when Dean Barry made TM Jeff Waddle break the news to the Melville office that they were moving to Ballston Spa right after he (Dean Barry) attended several unit meetings there telling everyone “Melville isn’t going anywhere”. Then had the audacity to show up the next day and say, and I quote “didn’t you see the writing on the wall?” Upper management is out for themselves in this whole “migration process”. They will lie to their employees to achieve their own objectives. I’m looking forward to November 30th now.

@@V1VNYVI, When the time comes I hope you will even get the chance to transfer to a hub or move on.

Funny, I started my career in the Massapequa CSO in 1990 and eventually wound up in an Op Center in 2003. The one I work in is not on a closing list...yet....but when the time comes I will make the choice to either move on or move to a Hub (if I can stomach it). I know my office will close eventually so the day they give us a date will not be a terrible shock. The 4 other offices I have worked in over the years all no longer exist. Knowing all of this, every employee needs to have a contingency plan. It is not if... it is when.

It was being presented a "breaking news" but simply being pointed out anyone who works in these offices or works in a hub knew about this when it was announced years ago.....It's not that we are not empathetic it just that this was not new to any employee paying attention the last 5 years.

Yes it has been in the works for years so it's not "new" news for any of us. So glad you can feel empathy though for those of us who have been loyal to the end. I hope you're a future state employee so you can get all you deserve!

This is not new news.....there are dozens if not a hundred of these remaining small offices country wide that got their date a long time ago. Sad for them but this has been in the works for years.
