Thread regarding University of Phoenix layoffs

Subprime College Crash Continues Under the Radar

University of Phoenix, now part of Apollo Global Management, continues to close campuses. In total, they have closed more than 450 campuses and learning sites. I expect UoPX to close half of their remaining campuses in the next 12-18 months.

@3bmm,

Nobody takes it seriously. The immense majority of people enrolling in the PhD program have UOP undergraduate/masters degrees. They believe the program is good because they have other degrees from the same institution. Their skills aren't sufficient to conduct a coarse internet data gathering and realize Phoenix's credibility is nil. It's heartbreaking because these folks clearly want to better themselves even if it takes a long time and large sums in student debt.

The bulk of Campus closures was announced last September if you don't remember

What source did the author use to make this claim. We have heard of no new campus closures; however, the budget is still in process for the next FY which begins 9/1/18, so it is certainly possible. If there are more major layoffs they will occur between now and Aug 31. Campus closures would be announced after the new budget is published.
