Without enrollment growth, there is no choice other than layoffs and closings for profitability. Mid level management and operational management does not know and are not informed so they can preserve whatever morale is left and prevent the last few competent employees from leaving. There will be more, many more layoffs until the enrollment floor is reached. My guess is about 50K; however I don't think that is even sustainable.
Exactly what @Td5nSjT-5jnc said. Don't live in a fantasy land and believe we are done with layoffs. We are far from it.
