@1aib did you get your PhD from University of Chula Vista?
If OP comes back to work in the industry, he'll likely be back to fixing bad code. I've heard Google is a PhD parking lot. There are tons of PhDs at Apple chasing bugs.

You think that's going to stop you from working on sh--ty code, or just other people's code in general?
@hhd - sorry, I cannot share the school name for privacy reasons. It's on east coast and a top 3 interdisciplinary program focusing on comp sci theory / statistics / neural nets / arbitrage.
My 2 cents - Take charge of your career trajectory - blaming Qualcomm won't help.
Also working to getta outta Q. So much terrible work quality. Always fixing crap that was broken by legions of random people I've never met. Seriously guys, look at the typical code quality. So much time spent repeatedly fixing the same mistakes.
