I'm on an H1B visa and was impacted by the layoffs. I'm not seeing any interests in my skills the moment I say I'm on H1B visa, yet the employers say they don't discriminate. I've got a couple of job offers in B'lore, 1/3rd the total compensation but am happy that I can work happily than thinking about my visa situation every day. My realtor has promised me to close my home in 3 weeks. Life moves on.

Any thing special about this Senior Director? It is regular IOS??
Good riddance. One less H1B here. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.
@T54maJl-1sqn Yes. BDC SR DIRECTOR is relocating to US
Look forward to seeing you at a contracting company.
No more layoff will be required now.
Read below link, this guy is coming to speed up attrition like already did in BDC

Sorry to hear that and good luck. Ignore all the MAGA idiots trolling here. I’m an American-born engineer who sees the benefit H1-Bs bring to this country. Tech certainly would be in bad shape without all the talent brought in from overseas. If the MAGA idiots had their way, all H1-Bs would be eliminated, and tech companies would have no choice but to “geoshift” even more of their high-skill, high-compensation operations overseas, taking with them all the economic benefits these jobs and industries bring to the areas in which they are located.
Heard BDC SR DR relocating US, is it true?
OP, good luck and one thing - I think the home closing takes 3 weeks only when you have an all cash offer. It is good to plan 35 days from the date of listing if you have priced it a bit low to sell.
Why do you assume your immigration status is what's keeping employers uninterested? Maybe there are better candidates, maybe you're not a good fit, or maybe the job posting is already earmarked for someone else, as is often the case for H1B hires
Cool story bro!
OP, all the very best to you. May you find all the success you deserve back home !
„I dont think this counts as discrimination if a company isnt willing to financially back a visa...“
LOL @sse this is the funniest post ever, because everyone always acts like H1-Bs replace Americans because they are soooo cheap, and then someone points out how companies might not want H1-Bs, because they are too expensive due to their visa cost.
OP you'll probably have a great career back home. Lot's of growth and opportunities over there. The Q is geoshifting.
Good luck and much success to you. Thank you for sharing.
One-third the salary, that's a pretty good deal. Cost of living is one tenth. Good luck!
