And all those SD engineers are peeing their pants sausage they’re gonna need to move to get their next job. Who moves to a city that only has one employer in your field. Dumb.
@1yza. You are missing the point
Sd has the max number of employees in usa... so sd bears the brunt of this
BIGGIE! BIGGIE! BIGGIE!
@skr ,, "cost per head is most in San Diego"
It's a myth!! Qualcomm engineering salaries are almost same everywhere except bay area. By almost I mean ranges for various title levels do track pretty close. Bay area is of course more expensive because I believe they would bump the ranges up by god knows how much %.
we're not done pivoting from 2015
Yes it's very difficult. We must hire another 5000 program managers to slave drive the rest of the engineers.
Most of the cuts would come from sd as the cost per head is most in sd.
Also from usa smaller offices.. they may be closed
Worldwide will take a while cause countries like India take 6 months. Legal.
Company wide 22% or SD/US 22%? If company wide then SD impact higher.
20 percent is still less than HT would have done. Be pleased.
