Honestly you don’t know who works here and who doesn’t. That poster asking about value lacks common sense. One thing does not correlate to the other. A degree doesn’t equal what it used to and i didn’t get the impression that they felt a degree made them more knowledgeable; sarcastic or not. I see a good bit of degree-bashing. Now that definitely sounds like a jealous employee that feels bad about themself. Why hate? It only poisons you and shows who you are.

Sorry this happened to the folks but it is a silver lining to receive some notice. Not all companies provide that. I am personally surprise these positions have been around so long. Well they employ some creative folks for sure, the company has become so mainstream that it doesn’t seem to fit the direction they seem to be having. Hopefully people can get over the idea that this is the company they thought it was. It was bought out and it has changed. As far as it being on the media, OTS was on the media that has gotten even stricter. The news media will do nothing for you. Right now we have political interactions, they are on the news as well and what has changed? The news is a joke. Good luck to you and hopefully you can find something that suits your talents. It is not just Whole Foods that has changed; it is the world. Like Chris rock said, you can go to school and get a degree and get a job – if they are hiring. I was always envious of the GA people because I would personally see them having a grand time while I busted my butt on the sales floor. And I have a degree. So make sure whatever degree you get, think about what the world will want in 10 years.

In regards to the UPS package, you would have to be signed up for UPS select at your home address to get an email alert. If you’re not personally signed up for that, you would not have gotten an email. I got my email 30 minutes before the call that a package was on its way from Whole Foods Market in Austin. Surprise! I think that was the worst case of bad timing I’ve ever heard.
Northern Pacific Region (SGA) here. I did not get a personal e-mail or a e-mail sent to my work about any UPS package. How do I find out if there's a UPS package coming to me?

Quick note for outgoing SGAs looking to bulk up their resumes: make sure to ASK store leadership before you take decor or artwork that you have created. That's been a terminable offense in the past. Don't give anyone an opportunity to deny you benefits or payouts by involuntary dismissal.
It would seem like the higher your rate of pay, the more likely it is that they are looking at whether or not they really need that position.... Just seems logical
The man is an original investor in workday. I imagine that with 400,000 employees at amazon they have the whole TMS thing figured out. I’m sure we will need some per region but not a team of 30. It’s all about streamlining what they can to reduce costs. TMs doing signs over and over at the rate they got paid was a easy first choice for them. I think we are all on notice at this point

Your regional marketing and creative team members are going to work hard to do whatever they can to help you get your portfolios together and find new jobs. We’re in the same boat and consider ourselves a family.
I live in Kansas and I am an SGA - I will stay with WFM through July and then I'll have to leave.
GAs, get yourselves a hard drive and back up whatever you can for your portfolio. Don't forget to take photos of anything hanging in the store. WFM GAs have a unique position that combines illustration skills and computer graphic skills which is desirable. If you don't know any web design yet, take a course because most jobs want some internet experience, even if its basic html or wordpress.
Did they say what is replacing all of the SGA? Will everything be printed off site and sent ?

RP just hung up on the call line for today's meeting in my region because there was static! Like every single call we have isn't a mess anyhow! What WFM tech problems??
No one in marketing keeps their job but coordinators who then have to apply for a position as regional whatever it’s called. And it’s a team of 3-4 people per region.
In order to get your severance, you HAVE to stay until the last day.
I would have to believe that this is just the tip of the iceberg...
If they are only going to consolidate down to 3 regions, there are MANY MORE positions that will be eliminated.
Can’t comment on other regions, but my STL (SO Region) said they were pretty positive that all single store, dual store, metro, and field specialists were eliminated for both Marketing and SGA.
NorCal SGA here. What happened at the Regional Level in Marketing? in the conference call, they never mentioned anything about those guys. like MML's? Do they still have a job?

I was with Whole Foods for 4 years. I've never worked with so many smart and talented people. I loved the mission and the environment. But it's never going back to how it was.
If you don't see your job title at Safeway or Walmart, it's going to be gone eventually.

Severance is based on years worked, with a minimum of 2 weeks of severance pay.

Thinking of all the WFM TMs impacted by this- sending all best wishes and strength.
As a 10+ year veteran who drank and believed in the Kool-aid, I was fortunate to work with so many dedicated, talented, fun and incredibly hard working people over my years. Many who are still friends to this day. Left a year ago, and trust me, there is a great life outside of the WFM bubble.

Whatever the case is tomorrow, Regional Marketing, Regional Creative, SGA's, SSI's and SSS's need to make this a public matter. This was not part of the Amazon initial buy-out. Make them cringe when they deliver those severance checks.
