why did they sign up for a University of Phoenix graduate degree if they couldnt get a job with a University of Phoenix undergraduate degree?
They are very low quality degrees with a high price tag. Imagine paying a lot of money for a bottle of wine and then finding out that the wine is the same cheap stuff from the dollar store (which I didn't even know existed until I saw it at 99¢ Only). That's what a UOP degree is like. I spoke to a lot of re-entry students who dropped out of a UOP graduate program because their undergraduate degree didn't get them a job. Of course we still tried to get them back into the masters degree program.

it is physically a real inanimate object. However most jobs dont accept it for employment purposes

Is the UOP degree real?
If the few who actually do graduate from this putrifying hot mess were to be polled, I'm sure they would say that for the 100k+ price tag for the paper the diploma was printed on it is indeed very real.
Earned my Masters from UOPX in 2002. Had no problem getting a comparable job after being laid off in 2014. I'd consider putting "on campus" if you went to physical classrooms, or put Apollo Group if you're worried. Again, I had no problem.
I taught there for 15 years, and while I would have considered hiring a graduate of UOP for about the first 7-8 years I taught there, I changed my opinion of the graduates as the sincerity of the student body change so drastically. I did not give up hope that this would turn around until the day I made the decision to resign, realizing that for students attending UOP was merely a substitute for welfare and the students were never going to be people I would hire or students who even cared if they graduated. If I couldn't believe in what I was doing, I couldn't do it any longer.
UoP degrees are as good as any other college. You get what you put into it. I have taught at ground schools and had students do no work and still pass, just like I have taught online and had students who do no work and still pass. The degree is worth the amount of effort a student puts into it.

I believe that the ultimate test of a degrees legitimacy is weather or not you can get a job with it. Allot of resumes are automatically disqualified for having University of Phoenix. And allot of employers do not hire University of Phoenix graduates because of their poor level of abilities and skills

Graduates of UOP can tell you they had to work for their degrees. It’s usually the drop outs and people who couldn’t hack it that talk crap about UOP. UOP is accredited by the same boards as other institutions. There is nothing wrong with a UOP degree.
