That number lost its importance as soon as it was made public. These guys will fire, hire, close project open project, indicate some random attrition # and confuse the hell out of everyone. Just ignore this and move on.
Only SM and GD know the true number. Layoff will have to track hockey stick cure for some time till Qualcomm shows they can bring the stock to at least 82+.
