Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

High ratings but shown the boot!

Had ratings of 6 or better in the last 4 years, yet still shown the boot. Not sure what criteria was used but time to move on!

Your problem is you were stupid enough to earn high ratings. If you wallowed in apathy and did nothing all day, you would still be here like me.

So true in our office it was all based on charge code. I saw some of the smartest and dedicated long time QC engineers get packages today.

6 or 7 in the last 4 years. Total BS. If you scored like that you would be promoted and start the new level at a lower rating. Pathetic liar.

@jdv most of the cuts I witnessed today can answer yes to your questions, including me. QC is lopping off capable but expensive folks. We had the average age of our group shift lower 15 years today. 40% of our small team is now fairly recent H1B hires. No joke.

I was a 6 and laid off. Senior director lied about why. He tried to make it sound like it wad "their" decision. I know people in that meeting. If you lied about such a thing, you are really weak, no balls, coward, underhanded, and insecure.

That's got to be some kind of discrimination unless your entire team was eliminated.

Serious questions: Are you remote from SD? Are you high-titled, like Senior Staff or Principal? Have you had the same title for more than 5 years? Are you older, maybe mid-40s or higher?
