Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Stress is too much

I'm up in the middle of the night checking this board because I can't sleep. I'm still reeling from yesterday and dreading going into work today. From what we all understood, layoffs will continue today, which means another day of anxiety, anticipation and overall stress.

Going to work shouldn't have to feel like this. Good luck all.

@rjh is right, if you leave on your own your career prospects won’t be affected. If you are laid off or worse terminated, it will be hard to get hired elsewhere. I can verify employers are able to find out if one was terminated voluntarily or involuntarily from Walmart, if they want to find out.

Yes, the stress is too much! Stress will kill you, it's keeping you from sleeping now. Stress will rob you of your happiness. Your life is worth more than that!! If you don't believe me, ask the people in your life that love you.

For those who say companies want Walmart managers, you are right, but only if you get out first and then go to another company. Hiring companies are full of naive hiring managers and dumb HR people who literally think if someone is laid off, they are in some way damaged goods. Don't wait to be laid off by Walmart. You know you are great at what you do! Start working your plan, get out there and make contacts for a new job. Let them know you bring your A-game and are ready to go! You will get a better job and get out on YOUR terms. Life will suddenly get better once you are out.

This is how Walmart will lose their talent. Talent doesn't have to stick around and take crap, talent walks away. Believe in yourself and take back control of your life.

Don't know everyone's beliefs yet I do know Psalm 23 talks of our Lord being the great Shepherd. That through times of trial he is there to walk us through it. And in those times we draw closest to Him. I pray peace comes to you and your house.

The only thing I can find solace in is that Wal-Mart managers are sought after in other companies. An employer told a former WM manager who put his resume on a job site that when they need a Store Manager or other upper management spots filled they literally type in "Walmart" to search that keyword in resumes.

I'm doing the same, but my husband is the Co-Manager....Ever since he told me about all of this I haven't been able to sleep or think about anything else. He's such a great and dedicated manager. He's never called in to work and has never had a coaching in 12 years of working for Wal-Mart, but here we are...
