This amount is insulting. They could have pulled off a handout 10x the size of this one, and VZ would still be fine.

Oh, well... Screw the worker. Again.

Did anyone notice on today's webcast that WIRELESS is still rocking the returns while wireline continues to draaaaaag down the rest of us?

We really need to separate the company. 13 years of us carrying the water for the entire org.

Cracks me UP that the useless haters here don't even know the difference between a stock OPTION and this "restricted" stock.

....and they wonder why they have nothing to offer a company...

Its hilarious to se the posts made by upper leadership. They are now having social media team members and HR monitor this site to throw some comments in that are positive so it doesn't seem like every employee feels like they work in a sh-- hole. AND YES I am currently waiting to vest (3 months) so I can bounce.

The company is giving employees 50 shares of restricted stock ...not stock options...After the 1 year vesting period they are transferred to the employee as full shares. At that time the employee owns them outright and can sell them at market value.

There's a term for employers that hand out worthless stock as compensation. They are called "paper-hangers". Your strike price will be so high on the stock, it will only continue to lose value as Verizon continues to decline.

I'd suggest you "wipe" with it and send it back to Lowell.

"Verizon will announce later today how employees will further share in the company's success, and the company will also be increasing contributions to the Verizon Foundation by $200 million to $300 million over the next two years," the company said in a statement. "These two initiatives have a projected EPS impact of 5 to 6 cents for each of the next two years."

Let the good times roll.

If I understand correctly, we're richer than we were yesterday, yet some of you remain so jaded as to believe you're still in some position to complain?

Understand this, sure there "might" be some minimal uptick in what you'll owe in income tax to offset the corporate tax break in the distant future, we will all derive benefit from this in the big scheme of things as it will offset by our own personal reduction in tax on income that they've assured us will be available for a few years prior to its being phased out.

And by the way @notanAholecomplainer, what do you think they should do with the $17B?

Wasn’t this what VARs or LTI used to be years ago before they took that away? So let me get this right - the company is saving $17B in taxes - and then cutting another $10B (probably some of our jobs), and we are waiting to years for 50 shares? Who is winning at this deal again?
