@1azf Stores in liquidation are under the control of the liquidation company, and they usually want as many hands-on-deck as they can get, so AFAIK you should be safe until your store completely closes in a few months.

@1ytg - if I had a winning Powerball ticket I would give it away to see my store manager out on the floor doing half the things my hardliner supervisor does (hint hint, its not just in hardlines, its the whole store). Our hardlines zone supervisor does everything, literally, while the store manager is in the office. She isn't always on a call, so what is she doing?

If this really happens, it would be too bad because our hardlines supervisor works his tail off (we don't have a soft lines supervisor anymore due to burnout). Maybe he could jump over to Target or somewhere else that has better job security, advancement opportunities and better pay.

All eliminations take place Friday. If you are called into the office Friday it's your last day!

I hope liquidating stores are excluded. This first weekend already proved that we can't afford to be short any hands than the too few we already have.

Here seems to be what we know already, if your store is $8 million or above you will retain at least one assistant manager, below the $8 million threshold, all existing ASM/zone supervisors will be terminated on Friday, store managers will now be considered floor coverage a great deal more than they are now, severance packages will be handed out on Friday

In October 2017, We were required to digitally sign something on Segno saying we wouldn't ask customers to use points. I work for Sears. Guess this rolled out later for KMart.

@1jdc Sad but true. I work for Sears but I shop KMart more. Many times I am one of three shoppers in the store. There aren't even their famously long checkout lines anymore. The prices are still often inaccurate though better than in the past.

Very few people care about Sears / Kmart as evidence by number of customers - DTFS

Very few people cared about SYW ever.

Can we stick to the topic of the post? No one cares about SYW right now...

@1pxo

Why would you give the member a discount that they didn't ask for? If they're willing to pay $50 in cash, you take the $50 in cash.

At my Kmart we were told to no longer use a customers' SYWR points unless the customer asked to use them. What's that all about it?

A final check would only be generated for you right away depending on your states’ labor law. If the state you work in does not require the company to issue your final pay immediately, then you will receive your final pay during next pay date. Just an FYI

Everyone remember to check your pay online to see if a paper check is generated anytime this week. Good luck everyone.

Managers have been told they must be in their stores Thursday Friday and Saturday after Tuesday meeting. This has been confirmed.

It's been said that ASMs will be demoted to zone supervisors and that all lead positions will be eliminated, so we shall see if this (or anything else happens) tomorrow.

For all we know, they could be having a "beating" about credit and SYWR and not about restructuring the stores like we think. Store managers have these kinds of meetings every year and I could remember these meetings coming and going without layoffs happening. I could be wrong this time around, but I'm just sharing what I have seen. All we can do is wait and see.
