The gatt rate for the 2nd quarter is 3.13...up from 2.80 in the first quarter. This means the lump sum buyout will decrease. Also, Gotlieb (a company that handles pensions for many verizon employees) dropped off a lot of literature at our garage last week....maybe they know something is coming???

Gatt rate comes out quarterly. For retirements purposes, you can go onto the company website, click on “about you” then go to estimate lump sum. It’ll pop up with your estimated buyout for the three months in that quarter. You can also estimate your pension in the future, but it won’t be exact as no one knows what the gatt rate will be in the future.
For retirement purposes, is the GATT rate updated monthly or quarterly? And is there a website that posts this info? TIA!
I don't know anything about Gottlieb, but whoever you do talk to make sure that person is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) for starters. You can verify that online.
I wouldn’t either...just using them as a barometer. If they are spending time/money to put out flyers, something may be in the works.
Gotlieb is not who I would give my money too if I retired
