Speculation, yes I will give you speculation about March 6th meeting. "Don't know what to do or say until I hear what 'they' have to say". Can't stress or lose sleep since leadership has not informed me of meeting agenda/details. My speculation is a "next steps" or "more information to come about next steps" for Systems and how it may/may not affect me.

Calling 1-800-California-Psychics has not done so good on this matter, and I have a $3,985 phone bill to show for it. The best they can do is provide past Powerball numbers, I keep asking for the numbers of this coming Wednesday.

Regarding EXTERNALS - Some do the job asked of them and some want your job. 99% of them are nice/good people. They ask you treat them as you wish for yourself to be treated. We all should wear yellow lanyards with "have a good day" on them.

Any word on the meeting? Enough of the external bashing already.

The guy talking about "whiners" is not a State Farm employee. He is, however, a resident of Bloomington.

He's one of your local unfortunates who has lived his entire life wondering why State Farm wouldn't employ him. Or at least, that's my guess, based on what I can see about him. Which is more than he knows.

It’s the “whiners and complainers” who held the solutions to these problems long before this turd rocket began plummeting into the current death spiral. For years many tried and failed to be heard. Voices were squelched as top leadership hurled hundreds of millions of dollars to consultants for the answers.

You whiners and complainers on here are EXACTLY the problem. I can’t wait to see you go so we can move forward. You are all the people that constantly say why something can’t be done rather than figure out how it can be done. Good riddance.

The internal/external argument needs to be under its own thread..... please move on out of this one

Mr. Troll... seriously... you're embarrassing yourself. Given that we're all anonymous here, that's truly an incredible feat.

You idiots need to get perspective outside of SF.

And you need to wipe off your chin.

You idiots need to get perspective outside of SF. Consultants exist all over the IT realm and have NO expectation of employment other than what they are contracted for. The main thing SF has done wrong is to keep externals on so long that it appears like long term employment. They should be brought on for a specific project, and be results based. Welcome to the real world and stop complaining about a company you don’t work for.

I have to agree with one of the posters below. I don't expect much detail from the meeting next week. It will be more vague spewing that contains just enough info to create additional fear and anxiety.

So true @sqw - so true...

Some of the best people I've worked with over the years have been externals, particularly of the staff-aug variety.

I am really scared and anxious. I know it's proper to say this but I have to vent somewhere. That's all what's on my mind. I really need this job...

I agree one of the hardest things about working at the farm is how they do treat our friends and team mates that are externals.. I have some very good friends and most are very talented workers!!

Mr Internal: Why does everyone at State Farm hate the contract workers so much ? You make them wear a Scarlet Letter with the green lanyard, and then treat them like crap like in your post here. Why? They do your work for you, and WITH you.. Where I work, other than HR type things which don't apply to them, they are just one of the team.

disclaimer: not a SF external, former internal.

On behalf of all the State Farm Employees who have decided to forego life as an internet troll, please allow me to apologize for the person who posted below regarding externals.

Mr External - you don’t work for this company so stop complaining. You are contracted to do a job, just like you might contract someone to mow your lawn. Be happy with your nice paycheck but don’t assume you are lumped in with the rest of us because you aren’t.

For the many years I have worked at the Farm as an external I have never trusted leadership as I always felt like a 2nd class citizen especially with the green lanyards they make us wear. Sounds like a Dr.Seus book. At the end of the day they never care about you as person your just an alias a number. I'm sure that's all corporations of course. A majority of those in charge makes you wonder how they even got in those positions. They don't care about the customer they care about the dollar sign. There customer service S---s that's with a capital S. I could go on and on but I wasted my time and your time with this rant.

So since we luv agile maybe we need to create a story to replace all senior leadership with folks that truly understand out business, our value proposition that we can offer our customers over any other competitor and that can talk the talk and walk the walk - Bye Felcia

Nothing of substance will be announced but will still add to fear, anxiety, and further reduction of productivity among employees. Yay SF!!
