Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Confidential Info Discussed on Layoffs.com

I am appalled with what folks are discussing here – there is a lot of confidential State Farm information here.

This information is proprietary to State Farm, henceforth it should not be discussed in a public forum like this.

Discussing layoffs in public (or in group setting) is against your terms of employment!!!

Discussing severance, pay, or any other details is also prohibited and it should not be disclosed or commented on.

“Henceforth” Really? Against my terms of employment? You can take your adverb and shove it along with your sanctimonious tone. Let me guess you got your “law degree” from John Marshall?

6orr, I am actually a policy holder who filed a UM claim and being treated like garbage from State Farm. The "good neighbor" has become that neighbor with the loud music blaring all night and letting their dog p--p on my lawn. I'm just fed up with the way I am treated and would like to expose the "good neighbor".

Has anyone thought of discussing the manner in which they now handle claims with a plaintiff attorney?

One more thing to the person who posted this thread. Whats it to you what other people post about severance, pay, etc. How does it affect you? You don't really think that the news media can't find out all about this layoff do you. Weird last time is was a restructure with only some getting offered a package, that by the way , after a long period of time they tried to weasel out of giving what was offered on paper to the offices that closed last. But it was on paper so they couldn't. But anyhoo...news media asked last time so, your laying off ? No we are by no means laying off. Whatever..this time they are laying off , offering packages so I guess SF never being in the media , EVER, as having layoffs that term is no longer important to them. Why, because its not SF anymore. To the old time employees who made it what it was up until several years ago, to its customer that have been loyal for some 40 years , and they get nothing any longer . Not even customer service when they call to ask a simple question. So why are you so appalled and worried about things being discussed? Gonna be out in the open soon anyway. Right there is a huge ,huge clue that who ever is calling the shots , does not care about SF reputation as it used to be cared for. They never ever even to their employees called it a layoff. Reorg, Realignment, Relocation, Restructure. . Anything but layoffs. As for comments made after my first comment, I don't drink, and if you have had great relationships with everyone at SF , your with all the rest of us, never said I didn't , but when executive puts the word out, any great , loving , relationship you have ever had with leadership, that things need to be put in place to get people to walk. Like restructure and moving people to different unfamiliar units when what they did still warranted them to keep their job, with ridiculous stats to meet that are so ridiculous without compromising customer service, which you also get evaluated on, all in order to get you to walk so they don't have to give you squat. Those relationships are like they were never there. Cut throat. Survival of the fittest. They will tell leadership do it or its your job. I still have many I talked to at SF, so that is how I know what people are going through. Now that my dear....is APPALLING. So if you want to use that word use it in adherence to the employees and what they have gone through the last 5 years and going through now after years of service , cutting people with 5-6 years left before retirement, thats appalling, where the word is suited. Using it in the way you are using it , is not for the employees that are going through this and who cares who knows what, it will be in the papers for the world see soon enough.

The person who originated this post has got to be kidding me. I was a 31 year employee of State Farm and these employees own you nor State Farm any kind of loyalty what so ever. Why, because I know from experience . I was a very good employee, better then good reviews. I was the one that your Supervisor and Mgr went in and fought for to get the most. So just to get that out of the way to make sure I wasn't some low paid employee that is disgruntled. State Farm doesn't give a rats a _ _ about you and your shown loyalty in your post, and any of these other employees that are getting the shaft. So if you think your thread of being appalled will win you points, sorry honey/ sir , hr person if thats your job, they got a folder on your too waiting to file 13 it. If you don't think so you must work in HR because the biggest liars, back stabbers of all , and I know for a fact HR is not , i repeat not for any employee , you are there for the company. And Please spare me any BS , because when I say I KNOW , I MEAN I KNOW. So for anyone that thinks SF really cares at all what happens to you , take it from me , I learned the hard way and the hard way is heart breaking after years of dedicated. after hours , filling in when ever and where ever needed, going above and beyond like I am sure most of you long timers have done also, service. If you are being offered any kind of money whatsoever, God is watching over you and take it and run like hell. But you know what I do know. You are going to be so much happier. Trust me. After I left , can't go into to much detail, but I had them by the a--, but anyway after the initial kinda shock when I made the decision , it took about , well you will be ok. I really can't go into detail. Your gonna be so much happier and guess there are sooooo many things out not only jobs with business but sooo many things you can do from home etc. Believe me. State Farm really isn't State Farm anymore. Ed Russ knew exactly what he was doing when he left , it was planned way before all the announcements in 2013. Who ever has gotten their hand in this company is the one who is calling all the shots and its not someone in executive. Its whoever Ed sold us out to. I know many are going to say no the company is owned by so and so and I am going to tell you that I did so much research not only on employment law but State Farm as a company , everyday for over a year. Dug and Dug and had some very valuable resources that helped me. You would be just like me, when I read and found out some of the things I did, Shaking my head in disgust, disbelief. I was an employee that was State Farm if ya get my drift . So I was more disgusted that i had spent 31 years working for a bunch of Disrespectful, Disheartening , Dishonest people/ company. Those are my 3 D's. Ya know their famous 3 D's. Deny, Delay, Defend. Those are my 3 Ds. As for the employees , I made many many great relationships but it really bothers me to see all of you having to go through this but i knew in 2014, all those people moving all over the place , giving up their homes that they had lived in for years. spouses giving up jogs they had for years, they knew then what they are doing now, Its awful and they don't carte. But here is what I say for the HR people that have helped harass great employees out of their job , to all the managers that thought they were SPECIAL, because executive was up you butt and conned you into playing the bad guy and crapping all over the employees that made you shine that you didn't care what you were doing to them and their families, Karma has no date, no deadline, an infinite memory, and no menu. You get what you give. You can't stop it. Its the way the Universe works. You do it to yourself. Well looks like your time is coming and if you think its not, your fooling yourself but I will still pray for you and by the way Thank You so much. Can't go into detail but well , just can't say. To all you employees, don't worry. There are so many ways to cut back, things that you think you had to have or really needed, believe me you don't, and its weird but your happier because something happens where you just begin to be you, and things that should have been important your able to focus on and those things bring such joy. Just focus on the good, on what you want , run like hell , and make it happen. What ever you want and ask for you will get. Good luck employees . Good Riddens to those who participated in the hate, enjoy your hate ride now.

The last post was spot on. The "family atmosphere" was part of what made State Farm a good company, both to work for and to be a customer of. While it's true the company should have been just a wee-little-bit more ruthless with it's termination decisions in years past, Tipsy's latest machinations have obliterated State Farm's competitive advantage.

Funny post citing policy. It's like the band playing while the titanic is sinking. Not sure if it was an HR person or upper management who's safe, but I know some HR folks in rank and file. They are disgusted with the company because they are even more close to the awful employment decisions and powerless to help. This stuff is coming from the highest levels of the company and there's nothing anyone can do. It's rolling down hill and everyone is in survival mode. Don't expect your Directors or managers to go to bat for you too much. Human nature has kicked in and it's every man and woman for themselves. If you haven't already experienced this, you will at some point over the next year. Thanks Tipsord, for completely destroying our company with your numbers approach. And shame on the board for their lack of oversight.

Bwhahaha!!! Really?! Whoever posted this thread is probably a disgruntled Corporate minion whose job is to either delete bad or negative reviews from other websites, or write all of those fake five star reviews on Glassdoor—and is ticked off that they can’t do either on this website!!! Nice try on attempting to scare people on this public forum to be SILENCED.

I have worked everywhere, done everything they have asked me to do. After migration working so much overtime I could cook dinner for my family. I'm opting out. So done with this garbage

State Farm doesn’t have any confidential info anymore. They threw that out when they begged every external known to mankind to come and charge us astronomical fees and return nothing... that is 0 in exchange for our payment. And the access they gave to those people was unprecedented.

To this poster focus on removing your lips from those terrible decision makers back ends, that is a far more productive use of your time! Clearly you think you will not be impacted.

This "person" is incorrect on the following:

"Discussing severance, pay, or any other details is also prohibited and it should not be disclosed or commented on."

There is no such prohibition anywhere in company literature, rules, or conduct guides. So, I have to believe this person is saying this as a joke.....

To further support that this OP is not an official message from "State Farm," as an effected employee, I was told we were free to talk about our "situation."

The only confidential info I've seen posted on this forum came from the claims side, related to a policy on when to declare a total loss. Everything else posted here seems legit.

I’m going to take that crappy relo deal you offered me.

And my resumes and job applications will arrive on scene a couple of weeks before I do.

And I’m going to need a couple days to ahem, unpack. And interview. And accept a better paying job.

Thanks for moving all my stuff!
