We were just visited by our RM a few weeks ago and during the visit he was talking about hiring and keeping good talent and the question was asked if BBB would be giving any incentive bonuses to key full-time positions as many other companies are currently doing after the tax breaks. The question was laughed at and brushed aside and he told us that their incentives to work was that they still had a job and they weren’t laid off in August. He continued to say that maybe we should bring donuts one Saturday morning to boost morale. I enjoy my job most days, but hearing that was disheartening. I realized that District and Regionals so disconnected from the stores and they view our hard workers as replaceable. They don’t realize that BBB is only one of many retailers to work for. Times are changing and we have to get onboard or choose to sink.

@RR7g20e-6mav I don’t have any info other than managers here in the Midwest think second round of layoffs are coming this week so they went in short term disability to at least get 60 percent of their check and can’t be laid off if they are on FMLA. I don’t know how true it is but we shall see.
I’m glad for you, now you can be appreciated, if you have any info that can help the rest of us please share. Well deserved!
It took me 5 months to get a new job. I was making 58000 at BBB and now I’m making 63000. I only work 40 hours versus 47. I’m much happier. It is possible
It took me 4 months to land another job! Very happy there and hope others find work soon. I have another manager friend that it took her 6 months to land. BBB does not care!
Any company cares about their bottom line. Thats the objective, to make money. Do you really think that you'll be valued as a person at another big box retailer? The sad truth about most retail work is that anyone can be trained to do it and you aren't special. That's not to say that companies shouldn't appreciate their employees and the hard work, long hours or missed holidays with their families. What happened in August was terrible. A lot of hardworking people many of whom have families to support were unexlectedly left without work. Unfortunately these are decisions that struggling companies sometimes have to make. And it's no secret that the company is struggling. Do yo you think BBB is run by a bunch of maniacal people, hell bent on ruining their employees lives? Grow up. As per your bonus comment, that just simply isn't true. I work on the district support staff and haven't seen a dime.
