To those that have been let go, I first want to say I’m sorry you and your families have been put in this situation. I know it’s part of the business....blah blah blah! So I’m curious if anyone has asked why they were selected and if the hr representive explained their reasoning. It seems to be pretty random just from the people i know first hand hat have been escorted out. Most are high performers (as far as I know because I don’t ask pdr ratings), many are in the middle of big projects, or just have several important roles they play in the company. Some have been at or close to retirement age while others have been recent college hires. I’m really curious if the names were just pulled out of a hat or if some real logic was put into this.

Stay klassy, kjr. Hopefully you were one of the ones let go.
vwa. Any company would be lucky to have you. You will find a better job and company
PepsiCo is a very negative place
Only rewards the 1%
Many tears shed this week watching my friends be escorted out
Good people
@mda Your superiors are lying. Someone gave you the long hard shaft. Let me guess you're not in one of the protected identity groups at this company are you?
I asked the same question but answer was restructuring. I'm one of the top performers in my group and received 10k stock option in the past. They said performance was not at all the reason. My boss and whole chain of command felt bad for me. They kept me informed of any new open roles. I never fought with anyone ever and I was known as a good person. Oh well nothing matters.
hey @ivm you work for the HR, right?
IVM, You must be another hr or pep pr person who is posting. Let me ask you how does your bosses d--k taste? Or this is pep with lots of female leadership, how does your bosses shriveled up c--t taste?
"maybe they should have offered some folks a shot at early retirement if they were close"
Me.
i was one of those that was escorted out. i asked why and nonanswer could be provided other than, this was a very difficult decision. always was considered a top performer and brought the teams i worked with over the finish line in high rankings year after year. Given the decision to chop people at this tough time in our markets, i feel the company did a lousy job of recognizing any of these infividuals for their contributions to the business over many years of service, in some cases over 30.
For some, it is going to be very tough to prepare for retirment now. i am 10 years away and feel it will be a hard road. A very tough pill to swallow given we have been building our business to drive sustainability and give our teams that sence of security we all need in our lives today by ensuring job security for the future. Rather than pick off some of the companies best assets, maybe they should have offered some folks a shot at early retirement if they were close.
i feel for many left behind in this restructuring, as it will be a big hill to climb with many more responsabilities on their plates.
Good luck to all, and may this type of "Thank You for your Loyalty" - "Leave Now" get recognized as a "WHAT NOT TO DO" to those who helped build this business over the years.
Way to Go Pepsico, or should i just send an eButton?
no, your answer is bs...you must be a Pepsico drone
That is bs. -gee go take your conspiracy bs to reddit.
The comment about not fitting the toxic drone culture is 100% accurate !
I point blank asked why I was laid off, and my VP that was in the layoff session said I "always did very good work and really appreciated the change and structure I brought to my department, but they were asked to just lay people off." It really didnt answer my question....because if I did really good work, I question if i did my good work was done too fast for them...making me expendable at this point???? The whole thing baffles me.
The biggest common factor I've observed is people who didn't fit the culture. That could be in several ways. If you question your manager at ANY point, you're probably on the list. Pepsi does not want people who think for themselves, they want servile drones who will do their masters bidding. The people that survive the longest have sold their souls long ago and are excellent at taking orders. That's the biggest factor.
There are other things as well, being in some type of disadvantaged group definitely helps. They love diversity which really means conformity.
