Look out Walls Mart! Lol

Amazon may make a bigger move into physical stores this year, according to one analyst.

Amazon is much bigger. Its value today is over $450 billion, more than 10 times the value of Target.

The only reason why Walmart stock is up because they bought $20 billion worth. Small trick all companies do for the stockholders.

It’s called fake profits.

If you are affiliated with WMT in any way, shape or form.....you can think all the "Arkansas Hicks" and all the other "Retail Hicks" (Redneck or otherwise) that put WMT on the map...if it were not for them, you would not have the job you have today.

Thank you very much.....

@imbh, so true! Depending on which analyst is doing the talking, the story is always tailored. It's ridiculous! You are right, it's retail, not rocket science, no need to complicate. Lately seeing a bunch of talking heads who have worked themselves up into a lather trying to over-engineer the way people buy goods. You can tell these people talk these ideas up as if they have just discovered fire. It's actually pretty funny.

The Pendulum will swing the other way….just watch. Brick and Mortar is dead…on-line is where it’s at….prices are higher on-line in order to drive people back into the stores (all stories that you have heard in the past 6 months if you’ve been paying attention)…HMMM… Which day is it and which story should I believe?

Pick a story and stick with it….Buy and sell, stack it high and watch it fly, treat the associates and customers with respect, make it new and exciting…. Retail is not Rocket Science and there is no need to complicate it.

Hence why Wmt is laying off divisions related to stores and replacing them with new techies in California.

They are not specialized (Alexa, databases, cloud, advertising) they are a tech company. They would be stupid to enter retail market. No one wants to buy retail stocks. Wmt stock is going up because they are trying to become a tech company like amazon, not because of their retail business.

Why would they take on the ball/anchor of brick/mortar? They are too specialized for that.

And the chess match continues...This would be a fantastic move for Amazon! For more reasons than outlined in the article this would propel Amazon into another realm of dominance. The alignment with Target shoppers is a match made in heaven; mom's, millennials, and people with more discretionary income would embrace it. Target has just enough cool factor to make it a good fit. Checkmate :-)
