Fake News! The cuts today were nowhere near 40%. Not even 10%.

@zhk “pre-meetings” are tomorrow. I know that with certainty for my team (under Lammas). I’m not sure if actions are tomorrow but I know the subject of our meeting is involuntary RIF! There is going to be some sadness in G’ville tomorrow. I feel for each and every one of you who gets let go. It s---s real hard for a while, but life goes on, and better times are in our futures! :-)
This is not fake news, though the % might be inflated. Just because you don't hear of sweeping mass action doesn't meant it doesn't happen every week bit by bit, but 100% certain there will be actions tomorrow in Power.

Usually, in mass layoff situation, employees are pre-notified in a meeting with senior management followed by one on one by HR.

Under WARN you do not have to file if less than 500 people at a single site or less than 33% if 50-499 people. Not all large layoffs require a WARN.

Not saying any of the OP is true, but there have been high level meetings this week in Greenville. My team has a Thursday meeting with our EB...everyone thinks this will be a high-level rollout of forthcoming actions. Something appears to be imminent in Greenville, within the engineering ranks.

To the people shaming the people screaming fake news, can you blame them? These people come on this board daily shouting layoffs are coming tomorrow and they don't come, "The Boy Who Cried Wolf" if you will.
If no warn notice should be under 150 in Schenectady since they laid off 100 in the last three months
I'm sure they have been engineered to not trigger a WARN notice. They've got to keep local governments in the dark in places like GVL and SDY.
My leader in engineering said we would have an action similar to March 2017 soon. If orders remain slow into 2018, then additional actions will occur. Long and drawn out process if business continues in down cycle. My thoughts are these numbers will not trigger a warn notice.
