I heard sales were poor considering bankruptcy tomorrow.

Wow....talk about a run on sentence. I sometimes wonder if some of the posters are drunk, or just plain stupid. Are they in any way functional in a retail setting?

Were sales horrible? You bet, but I don't think they would be filing Bankruptcy it be huge if they did but you never know I feel they are going to go with their excuse about transformation yada same old BS and maybe hold it until January or go one last year with shrinking the company once again closing a bunch of stores.

@Qu5vGDh-1oze If people are going to get upset maybe they shouldn't be browsing this website then.

@iqex. I think we all know the company is in trouble, so there is nothing new bein exposed here. I am just saying your harsh truth could happen anywhere even with a solid company. This is corporate America. Why point out the obvious other than trying to upset people.

There was an interesting sec filing recently for issuance of shares or some kind of compensation for a hired consultant who used to work for a big business law firm. Look him up on Google.

@Qu5vGDh-1cst Better to know the harsh truth sooner than live a lie for weeks and have the rug pulled under you at the last moment.

Really? Why delight in saying something like this to upset store associates. And we aren't after the holidays tomorrow. Listen any day at any company a person can go in to work and no longer have a job. Why upset associates with this nonsense when it is part of everyday life anywhere?

@Qu5vGDh-1ppv How true, they could already have the process underway and just waiting to spring the news after the holidays.

As a company, the executive board just doesn't say "well sh--, let's just file bankruptcy TOMORROW!"

No, there is a process... Usually companies will hire outside bankruptcy consultants and attorneys before filing to make sure all the ducks are in a row. Remember the news about Toys R Us? How they had hired a law firm that specializes in corporate bankruptcy? Then a few WEEKS later, they did?

They'll be additional speculation about a possible BK filing. Once those consultants and law firms start getting hired, THEN start panicking. Right now, just worry about the fact that your store is likely gonna close anyways BEFORE a filing is announced.
