Thread regarding Sears layoffs

it's time for Wall Street to pick out the casket for Sears that will go in the grave that it has already dug.

How many times does Wall Street have to spell it out? Sears Holdings Corp. (SHLD - Get Report) is a dying retailer, and its long-time CEO and major shareholder Eddie Lampert isn't helping matters.

Sears continues to notch mind-blowing losses, hemorrhage precious cash and is expected to report its third-straight double-digit decline in same-store sales in the holiday quarter. I think things are tougher at the Kmart format right now because there have been so many store closures. A buy is probably made and then the stores are announced as closing, so then there is more product to send to fewer stores.

The big questions associates on the floor have... why aren't the quantities of merchandise lowered by the buyers to suit a lowee store cout and remarkably lower same store sales ... why are we filling stores with 12 different colors of the same WINTER sweater that is still sitting in the same piles virtually untouched until May... yet we can't keep paper towels in stock at Kmart or batteries in stock at Sears.

More examples... does Kmart really need 32 styles of Everlast Sport athletic shoes each season? I go into Target and I see maybe 10 styles of athletics. How about those Risewear shoes that barely sell? Does Sears really need to sell the same style clothes (with different labels) that Kmart has at double the regular price? Why not sell one label/style across both banners? We were selling Structure at Kmart for a few years with Sears tags... that seemed to work just fine.
