Students don't want online classes, yet at our on ground campus, there are more online classes offered than on ground classes... wtf?
Students don't learn and have to repeat classes because of the lack of time and information these online classes offer.

My guess is you are not teaching any 3d modeling, animation or drawing/sculpting classes.
They can get better instructions from torrents and YouTube. What do they need you for?
The students are expected to write in complete sentences and paragraphics EVEN. That's INCREDIBLE!
So I take it you really like teaching online. This way I 'm sure you can dip potato chips into the onion dip you store in your navel while deeply engaging in Socratic discourse with the students.

I have taught for AI both on campus and online. Currently- the online classes are much more successful.
Campus students can't or won't read (instructions, textbooks, software menus) and have poor attention to detail.
Online students HAVE to read because that's how they complete the course.
Online students are required to WRITE in posts almost daily - complete sentences and paragraphs even!
Campus students won't write if they can avoid it.
Online students are in constant contact with the instructor- by email, phone, text- they contact the instructor when they have a question or need help. Campus students sit there and play with their phones- wait until their grade is failing before they admit that they are having difficulty with assignments.
The campus method is severely outdated- worked in the 80'sand 90's but the online program is much better designed to fit 21st century learners.
According to collegescorecard.edu.gov, South University's online graduation rate is a whopping 3%, that's up from 2%, but with all the changes so far he may even get it to 4%.
Brentley better roll up his sleeves and get to work duping the dupes and raiding the taxpayers loan money for all that documented excellence.
My thoughts and prayers are with the students who are not aware of this farse. No doubt.
The online gameplan is something that Brent Richardson and his cronies have used in the past to make money. Look at Grand Canyon. Once he took over he pushed online courses big time. You're right. It wont work with our students, but that doesn't mean they won't give it a try. Besides if a student repeats a class, that just more tuition money to rake in.
