I know if we are released early, that's it's generous. It's not something they have to do- however, I really have my hopes up since the last 3 RIF's have been released early. I'm crossing my fingers that we get releases sooner than later.

Good for you, previous poster, but MY leader and COM and Regional Director did not say be prepared for more layoffs. They ALL reassured us we were safe. That's the point I'm making: not everyone got the truth from leaders. You can't blame those who were blatantly lied to, which is what you are doing in your post.
Well when they announce in a meeting/town hall that " there are no more layoffs planned for now" and how that can change, that should give you an indication that layoffs were not done. My leader and my com, when asked about future layoffs told my team there were no guarantees. My coach encouraged us to dust off our resumes time and time again. If you missed the clues, again that is on you and you are very naive.
To the poster who said:
"My leaders have been saying since February they cannot guarantee no more layoffs. It's been said in numerous town hall neetings! If you chose to ignore that, that's on you. If you truly felt safe despite quarterly layoffs, that's on you!"
That is absolutely untrue. The only town hall meeting where a leader gave no promises about avoiding layoffs was after the 8/28 RIF. Before that was a slew of false reassurances. Even after that public acknowledgement, many leaders in HAH continued to reassure their staff that they had nothing to worry about. It is not "on us" but most definitely on the leaders who either lied or chose to stick their heads in the sand. Congrats on your positive attitude, poster, but many others aren't in that space right now and you have no reason to lecture us.
Below poster, that’s awesome and I wish you the best. It is great you are strong and forward thinking.
The posters who are focused on the impacted associates, viewing them as a nuisance dragging them down, those are the folks I take issue with. Their response reveals a lack of character.
I have been impacted but refuse to be bitter and negative about the company. What purpose does that serve? I will continue to work and connect with my members without wallowing in self pity. For myself, I have chosen to put my best foot forward and keep my head held high. Am I worried about finding a job? You bet! Am I concerned about getting health insurance for my family? Most definitely! However, I don't take any of this personally. This is corporate America and they are doing their jobs as leaders of this company. Layoffs are not easy decisions. They don't owe us anything and they are not obligated to let us go early. Layoffs happen in all sectors.
My leaders have been saying since February they cannot guarantee no more layoffs. It's been said in numerous town hall neetings! If you chose to ignore that, that's on you. If you truly felt safe despite quarterly layoffs, that's on you!
I will not have a pity party for myself, I will not let bitterness and anger consume me! I will get up every morning with my head held high and be the best person I can be. I will network and apply for all the jobs I can. If at the end of the day I didn't find a new job, I will go to bed knowing I am doing my best and will get up the next day and try again. I am strong! I am a fighter! I will not give in to bitterness, anger and hatred!
Seriously? You work at home but the impacted associates are having such an effect on you?
You need to toughen up, show some empathy and accept that the days of “no negativity when you are drinking the kool aid” are over - for many non impacted associates as well, at this point.
Can’t handle reality? It’s not all “rah rah Humana,” but so what? Does someone say something on chat during your day that brings you down?
How is this “negativity” by people who have lost their jobs - how is this really impeding you? Are you that weak? And if this is your main concern, are you really this cold?
Did you need lies like “no more layoffs in 2017” to get you through the day?
I am wondering the same. It's very difficult working around all of the negativity that is being express by those impacted. I wish they would let them go ASAP so they can focus on finding a new job and so that those who remain dont have to deal with the negativity. This is a difficult time for everyone, not just those that have been impacted but also those that have not. People have been showing their true colors by only being concerned about themselves and others that have been impacted.
You all do realize that all large companies must give a 60 day notice, meaning you must remain in your job for 60 days. To be released early is not an entitlement but rather a gift.
Every day we have to log in is like a slap in the face. You sadistic Humana power players just need to let us go haven't you enjoyed yourselves enough? And then to listen to some crybaby complain that they have to go to a new team and oh how she hates change! Well, honey, at least you have a job but don't worry, the next round will probably get you and then you can see some real change!!!
Someone I know reported she was told who her new coach will be, once laid off people stop working, there will be big team consolidations and coaches eliminated. Maybe if people hear they have a new coach or when they will be starting on a new team, it will give us an idea of when all the laid off associates will be released.
RIs it Friday yet?? I am having a very hard time focusing when I should be looking for a job since I was laid off.
Good luck 😃
I spoke with a job recruiter, not the one Humana offered, but one I sought out on my own, and he told me even though there are many jobs posted in my area that organizations most likely will NOT hire new staff before the first of the year due to things like the W2 process and paying for that new staffer in 2017. He told me not to get discouraged, but that it will probably not be until late January until I get interviewed/hired and onboarded in a new role outside Humana
LOL. I was wishing.
No, around the 15th....that would be 2 weeks early.
So Dec 1
So far I’ve heard 2 weeks before, around 15th ish...
I agree. I would like to know about this as well. It would be EXTREMELY helpful to me to be focusing as much attention as possible to finding other opportunities, considering this time of year is generally very challenging for job seekers. Also, as each day goes on it is more and more painful saying goodbye to members and trying to focus on having quality conversations. I don't want to start crying on the phone with anyone.
