I thought something had been missing in store and it was those huge boxes of chocolates that were always a great seller plus the huge Reese’s peanut butter cups for $9.99
Did your store get the this year?
Just curious

@6fyd - You are 100% correct! There was absolutely no change in our store inventory level or merchandise receipts until AFTER our store closing announcement. After the announcement, we began receiving EXTRA merchandise to sell during our liquidation. Shipments to our store ended about three weeks after the closing announcement.
No store is safe... there have been some previous threads in which closing stores reportedly started receiving an increased amount of shipments, stuff that Sears hoped to get rid of in that store's upcoming liquidation sale.
We didn’t get a lot of the Christmas gifty stuff either! Less of everything seasonal for Christmas but everything else we are full to the brim!
Hm, never even came to mind, but we didn't get them either. We also never got nearly as much of the other gifty stuff as we had the last two Christmases I've been there.
Ours is certainly not closing any time soon... Not with the tons of stuff we keep being shipped and we tend to do the best in the district.
That would of been a very interesting analysis we didn't get the chocolate boxes this year, but we arent closing. Reason is I saw a lot of truck today leading to new years resolution so as of now I don't think we are closing. I do expect lots of cuts despite our sales being way down to plan and last year.
Also to note those chocolates were kind of gross.
WHITMAN CANDIES
So a box of chocolates determine if your store is closing. You are an idiot. Even stores that have gotten remodeled closed. No store is safe!
@qoy - the white discolorization is from the cocoa butter fat migrating and crystalizing on surface of the candy and is known as a fat bloom and is harmless
End of today's chemistry lesson
Those are Kmart items sent to Sears. There's other items throughout the year that the buyers send into Sears.
We didn't get any this year either, which is a good thing because last year the chocolate we got was beginning to get white spots on them!
Got some news for you zza, even if your store got the big box of chocolates your store will be closing too!😹
Stuck a fork in sears/Kmart they are done!!
@zza well that explains everything🙀 🙀🙀🙀🙀🙀😹🙀🙀
Yes ours did but I have some bad news the stores that did not get them will be the next batch to close in January. Happy holidays
