Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Any more about the February 2018 layoff

Looks like the ELT learned from previous layoffs of news leaking out too early. Now all layoff discussions are done in a strictly secure environment to prevent information from getting out.

So anyone heard anything about the February 2018 layoff details

For Raleigh Citrites,

I am a OCT ‘17 layoffed Citrite, a family member who has witnessed the Raleigh IT Citrix market hardship. Citrix Engineers are a special breed and the Raleigh market has had few openings for them in the past and today. Especially today since

You’re better off marketing yourself as a Systems Engineer/Admin.

Get your Certs on their dime if you don’t have them.

Expect 5-7 years Citrix experience to qualify for a real Citrix Engineer position.

Take time to sharpen newer skills like Cloud,

Netscaler, Nutanix, App Layering, VMWARE, scripting, etc.

Start your job search NOW.

DON’T expect your handsome severance package to last you long enough to get another Citrix career.

Be prepared to relocate.

ADVICE provided by a spouse of a former Citrix employee who helped spouse land a new Citrix career in Raleigh in March ‘18

I’m in denial this will ever happen. Citrix is my life and my soul. I will be torn asunder if I loose my job at the holy temple of Citrix Fort Lauderdale

I pray this is not true

Heard directly citrix will be trimming some workforce in February at the Fort Lauderdale offices.

The year end results will be great but EM wants additional profits so a good number will be affect in Fort Lauderdale

Good luck

Posting a lie? The people who sneak in here and post Pro-corporate crap should jump. From the top of any parking deck in Raleigh or Ft. Lauderdale. Jump!

This is malarkey. Citrix is not going to fire or outsource IT. Atleast till 2019. Due to recent tax cuts and investment friendly environment it would be PR debacle to get attention in doing so. That will effect Brand and thus stocks. So people take it easy and stop with this paranoia. Even if Citrix goes to dogs I think the economy will easily be able to find us new positions fairly quickly. If you are really worried about Citrix. Stop worrying. And if you are just here to troll then just know that karma is a biatch.

I keep hearing rumors from individuals of different levels that they may be planning to outsource most of IT in the near future. Wonder how long before the Contact Us page on the corporate web site has a Bangalore address/phone?

I seriously hope if there is firing Citrix should be open about it, trying to do under the wraps will have more issues, else any resignation that happens will be perceived as lay offs, and the thought would be that this is a clause in severance that the person cannot disclose. It will lead to more rumours. Seriously to be in a bad place when the trust is lost. Should be more open.

Raleigh doesn't need Support? Well, I guess the innovators there already have the product quality at an all time high. Such an inspiration, their story!!

This time the ELT is under strict orders to limit all layoff conversations on a need to know basis. They are under real threat of job loss and disbarment from the industry if they talk, so all ELT is denying any talk of layoffs but behind closed doors there is much conversation going on.

This is the duplicitous way of EM and the new Citrix ELT.

I hate this place and can’t wait to get out

We just got confirmation today that we are shutting down the support team in the Raleigh location and moving everything to Bangalore. We've already slowly begun the process but should have everything fully moved over by the end of February. It's a sad sad day for Citrix.

Nobody thinks highly of Citrix. It hasn’t been a cool or desirable place to work in almost a decade. You say Citrix to most people and they will have no clue what you are talking about. It’s like IBM, but pays less.

@QNfRx4x-7oga I can assure you it's not just santa clara, I have seen lot of favoritism in Raleigh too, guess no wonder where Citrix is today.

Nepotism, Citrix culture from top to bottom. Seen this happening all the time in past and now. Recently, look at the people who have been asked to go and the people kept or newly hired. Who cares about hardworking and results. They do whatever is good for themselves personally.

There are managers who hired their friends and those friends have nothing to do with the job, not qualified at all for the respective duties. Of course, some of them have been promoted with high priority against other hard working engineers. This happens in Santa Clara, Building 1.

How much nepotism is present here in Citrix? Having seen some of the names who've been promoted recently, it's so easy to get disheartened.

Nothing you can do about it if it does come. Just enjoy the holidays and the time you have, and then take the nice severance and go find a job a real company that actually has a positive name for itself . That’s the way I look at it.

People, please don't troll. Every month there's someone with an "inside source" who know about a coming layoff. The December rumor had a lot of BS steam to it. The whole purpose of these boards are to share information, not fake news. This isn't Facebook. Please try to resist posting a lie. I know it can be hard in these times.

The last layoff ( OCT ) was the worst secret layoff ever, I packed my stuff up the week before, as I was expecting it. It was kind funny sitting with HR ( in a group of 7 or so ) We were all happy that the day was finally there.....
