I was looking for a men's baseball cap at Sears, and they had none. Two employees confirmed this. I saw a plain tan baseball cap out of place, but I was told it was a women's baseball cap. Sure enough, it was too small, and I found the the display in women's apparel. Is this a seasonal thing, or can Sears not even find a no-name Chinese supplier of men's baseball caps?

It's funny you mention those Craftsman hats with the lights on them cause last time I was at Sears, most of them had dead batteries.
Sears and Kmart are getting out of the apparel business. For you workers, notice how you have been getting more clothing than you could possibly sell and you are getting spring and summer items in December. The reason is they are trying to get rid of as much clothing as possible and wind down the apparel part of the business. This may take a year of two but that is the plan. (see appliance/mattress stores for a hint)
Ya. Baseball caps are really going to save Sears.
Baseball caps? You've got to be kidding. What's the big deal? Some people are getting really picky here.
Try Amazon.com - they have E V E R Y T H I N G !!!!!!
@dbj So odd that the Sears store where I shop has plenty of Christmas merchandise. I think it just varies store by store.
A few of these comments are kinda...well...stupid.
Of course there's no Christmas selection. You go to a store chain that's barely hanging on and you expect a full selection? Also, They aren't in trouble due to their lack of merchandise. They're lacking merchandise because they're in trouble. Sears had been going for years with a full selection of items and they were still struggling. I figured that would be obvious to everyone but I guess not.

Kmart carried all the ball caps around here - baseball, football etc. close out at $2.49 each . I bought a bunch. Just before the store closed, they were marked up to $14.99 and were gone within weeks of the store closing announcement .
@bii That is the problem with Sears. We really dont sell anything good. The only few remaining big selling items that can still sell is either appliances or tools. The cloths is horrible, electronics is a joke, mattress is so overpriced its ridiculous how we even sell them (along that they get canceled a lot), footwear is a big joke as well no good brands, sporting good is another joke nothing good to buy. To add all those departments have really inflated prices.
Can't be everything to everyone
There are three styles of craftsman baseball caps, they have led lights built in. They are awesome. Go to tools depot and buy one.
The people on here are worried about losing their jobs and you come on here because you couldn't find a baseball cap? REALLY? Go post your question on another board that cares
I went to sears last week to buy something, anything for Christmas and walked out with nothing. I was embarrassed with what was on offer. It is no surprise it is in trouble
Thanks for the hobby supply tip, I was just trying to figure out if this was like televisions where there's a whole product category that Sears doesn't carry anymore. It seems like a fairly basic item, but I could understand if it's a spring-summer thing replaced by knit caps in fall-winter.
OP, if your goal is just to find a basic cheap baseball cap, check out Hobby Lobby if you have one in your area. They have solid-color baseball caps for like $2, intended for crafters to decorate but they work fine as-is, and have been lasting me for years.
Is Sears supposed to carry everything? Some stores sell baseball caps, some don’t.
