Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Will there be a run on unemployment benefits in Illinois when it all comes to an end

Or will people be let go in stages at HE?

Since Illinois i believe has the largest number of employees will the state be ready for the influx of laid off people at Hoffman Estates?

Is the unemployment benefits system pretty much automated in Illinois? Do you still have to make an initial visit to the unemployment office?

How many weeks of unemployment benefits does Illinois provide since each state is different?

@Q8Gvs7r-mvn I’m saying sears ain’t going anywahere and if we do the employees at hE are some of the best in retail and could easily get a job with any competitor and probably get a substantial raise. Unemployment, LOL

No one on here has the real facts. But that is how these things go. I feel bad for anyone who takes these posts as real facts.

Companies are begging here in Ohio for help. Manufacturing ? they will train. Retail customer service - Plenty of opportunities. Someone I know got laid off from a KMart Sept 1 and was hired within 2 weeks at a real employer.

Will you be able to sit around an empty building and complain? No.

State dropped their weeks of unemployment from 26 to 12 .

@wdh - "None of them will be collecting unemployment." What are you saying, that none of them will be eligible to collect unemployment? Why not? Surely you're not saying that SHLD has never had layoffs before! Are you guaranteeing that there will be no future layoffs at SHLD?

Lol - how cruel OP. Less then 1000 work at HE, the state will be just fine, and none of them will be collecting unemployment.
