General Electric chooses to treat their employees like trash AGAIN. Reminds me of Kim Jong-un of North Korea as Flannery is managing via fear and threats in lieu of providing leadership and sound management. He's trying to be Mr. tough guy and the world is laughing at us. Rock bottom morale will continue GE's death spiral, not stop it.
As expected, the plant manager and his useless staff remains “protected”. They need to keep this group of PowerPoint readers. How much does this group get paid to read PowerPoints all day and draw new reorg charts?
GE Greenville manufacturing already knows who they are going to keep and who gets walking papers. Laying off everybody gives them the possibility of demoting your professional band and/or lowering your salary if they choose I keep you.
@1rdw in order to start working, we would need jobs to work on. Nothing is getting built, not even spares sets. GVL Repair barely has any jobs going now, either, despite the cheerleading. And who knows WTF all those engineers are up to... It sure isn't helping us do our jobs. They might as well close it ALL down and give us our severance.

@igu the shop I'm referring to was in the south and was a non-union shop
@kzm GE does not have to file a WARN notice for a union shop closure, just has to notify the union. Greenville is non-union, therefore I would expect a WARN notice.
@TexasToast Agreed! Moral is extremely low so when employees are not searching linkedin for external jobs they are browsing this page. It's funny how people wonder why Greenville is so slow to react to requests throughout all functions.

I'm not saying these reports are accurate but GE closed a plant a few years ago that had 250-300 employees and they never filed a WARN notice nor did the media channels find out/care (no news coverage at all).
@Q76XLRk-glj; You stated Power has to cut $2B in cost, that is not correct. All of GE has to cut $2B, I don't know we have heard a specific number for Power but regardless we have to get smaller quicker. Should have actually started much earlier, especially with the European sites.

I highly doubt the people in here screaming fake news even work at GE Greenville, seeing as how the ENTIRE plant has been talking about this since the meeting ended this morning. It is 100% true and has been confirmed by multiple ops leaders and cell leaders. Anybody who says otherwise is either in denial or a straight up troll.

For everyone thinking this is Fake News trust me its not. It happened and it WILL affect every salaried employee from LPB to PB's., ME's, PQE's, Ops Leaders, etc. NO ONE is safe except senior management. They all have to reapply to their jobs and go through the interview process again. You will have until November 17th to receive an offer letter if you don't receive one your out. They couldnt even wait until after the holidays. Sad day for the Greenville plant.
