Thread regarding Sears layoffs

How long before more vendors refuse to work with us?

I was just thinking about it with the whole Whirlpool thing. Our reputation in the market is already bad, and it's getting worse by the minute. If more vendors decide to pull their stuff from us, it will pretty much seal our downfall. Not that our future is stellar right now, but at least I still have hope we can make some kind of recovery. However, if vendors start dropping like dominoes, it'll be bye-bye Sears for good.

"They simply are not in the same ballpark as LG and Samsung."

They are flashier, for sure. But too bad LG and Samsung aren't in the same ballpark as Whirlpool on reliability, and availability of parts and qualified repair personnel when things do need repair.

Mattress vendors gonna jump ship soon. Already had a sto-sell a month or so ago.

It's inevitable.

@1xub - "Whirlpool stock plummeted after the announcement." As opposed to SHLD stock that soared to a record.....LOW!

We made the decision to drop Whirlpool because they increased our cost per unit. They simply are not in the same ballpark as LG and Samsung. Side note, Whirlpool stock plummeted after the announcement.

I used to work at a Kmart until the store I was at closed in 2014 for a demo and rebuild. I remember when I left all of the "normal" Sears/Kmart brands were carried.

What "generic" brands are carried now is what I am asking. Not just in pantry but other parts of the store, like Hardlines?

Kth, why the suspicious, rude Answer? Don't you think other people besides current employees care? Like retirees, or people who have close friends or relatives working for the company? Stop being so paranoid!

Quite a few. How many Vendors got screwed by Sears Canada? I'm sure some them will cut off SHLD.

The Wall Street Journal published an article yesterday that included a few names and included comments from a couple of those companies. You can bet many others refused to comment.

It's getting crazy. All sorts of random, no name, fly by night brands that no one has ever heard of are starting to show up at my Kmart store. I guess they will take anyone that is willing to ship to them.
