My guess: ptc/mkt lead/advantage coordinator/ jewelry. I think receiving lead and clerk will be after the holidays. Night crew will have a different shift.
Yes, this is happening and yes this is no surprise to Mgmt. They have secretly been training Teamleads some of the key jobs so it all goes over without a problem . Mostly all Teamleads that are not effected will be acting Managers without the title . I see a change coming in the Mgmt structure as well . There are meetings all next week

When any company lay-off as many managers as sams, and walmart did ,just to make a increase there is trouble,

Each market handles meetings with MM and GM's differently, but just know that change is coming. Receiving has been on notice since the Audit elimination and the past couple months has been a trial run on delegating Audit duties to other departments.
Where there is smoke, there is fire and January 2018 almost certainly will see the Receiving Invoice Clerk and Lead position eliminated. It also makes sense that any overnight reorganization to day/evening shifts will take place in January or maybe February if they decide to wait until after the year beginning meetings with GM's take place. A lot of good people will be losing their jobs and that is sad to see.
I have been with the company long enough to remember the early days when we were a pallet driven wholesale warehouse. In order to advance with the company you had to be able to operate a forklift, now hardly any hourly supervisors are forklift trained when promoted, and several have been leads for years without ever attempting to get their license. Our back room now has well over 20 empty U carts, L carts and other various carts almost all the time, not counting the carts that are loaded up with product. Almost all the pallet jacks sit idle, we are far from a warehouse company, just another retailer. Buying in bulk to save money as a concept is a business model that is dying, young people will continue to order online with home delivery for a price very close to what they are paying at membership clubs. Online shopping will not replace membership club shopping altogether anytime soon, but with reduced visits, club sales will remain flat or down for years to come.

You are talking about peoples livelihood so be careful what you post. It should be true without a doubt and not supposed. Think before you post. if it is true it is very helpful. If false it very hurtful.
So if your gm tells you that all them positions are gone. Then ask him when???

GM told me last week PTC will be getting more duties. With the elimination of drug testing (stupid) they will be giving PTC a bigger role in reports and operations.
Not credible info. A change like that would be communicated company wide and there is no widespread meeting scheduled.
Grasping at anything. Worrying doesn’t change anything. If you’re that worried it’s time to start making plans not reading feverishly in here to find out what’s not true or something turned into nothing. Creating panic is what this site should be referred to.

your big meeting is crap. so memb mgr going to grocery thru jan. no secret and if the night mgr has a conf call well that is changing as well. quit adding drama where it isn’t
what exactly is a floor mgr. no such title which lends me to believe you aren’t an employee or you have no more inside info than anyone else
no “big meetings scheduled” and if and when it comes it won’t be in a two day deal. too much info could leak. too much guessing here. you know changes will happen so just wait. it won’t change what you are doing right now.
My takeaway from an article and pattern is that they will take away from anything repetitive. This starts in office jobs where tasks are repetitive such as receiving clerk, PTC, and possibly membership office positions. It will happen as quickly as a suitable plan can be given to replace their tasks that have been minimized to where a part time associate can accomplish or task given to other associates to complete. After all that, company will move on to more complicated repetitive tasks outside the office and include technology to do the same thing and so on. Timing will be up to who is in charge and how fast deadlines are met.
If that many positions are being eliminated its going to take a meeting not a conference call. Its a restructure. You cant wipe out, lets say receiving and discuss the roll changes that are going to happen and how everything is going function and flow on a conference call. It will be a structured meeting with power points, binders and tons of questions.
your big meeting is contradicting what was posted a few days ago that came from someone with the inside scoop. when and if it all comes down it will be by surprise maybe not really surprising but not after some big meetings.
to inform gm of acct layoff last week it came as conference call on wed and telling us on thrs am. no big secret meetings. so not sure about the info here.
