Waiting for NC Governor to make a move on

The layoffs won't work against Citrix. You can't lay them off and then bind them to a non-compete? Sure, these employees weren't laid off, but you have to look out for yourself.

I'm afraid Egnyte is going to learn that California law doesn't apply outside the Golden State.

Egnyte will loose for poaching competitions talent. They have no chance of winning

This will not hold up. I suspect Citrix will be bankrupt before long. So much for a company who actually cared about its employees and retained top talent. The days of Mark Templeton are gone, sadly.

Coercion of employees and obstruction of competition and resorting to strong arm tactics is not a winning strategy.

Citrix needs to build a better product, keep its customers happy and learn to retain employees with benefits and a good work environment.

Is that what they are telling you at Citrix in Raleigh? Are the job prospects so bad there that you will believe this crap?

I'd rather be part of the system that allows individuals to freely enter into a contract where they willingly surrender certain rights in exchange for compensation than the one that has designated sh!tt!ng streets.

Read SCOTUS opinion Hertz Corp. v. Friend (2010). In a nutshell, SCOTUS ruled that a corporation incorporated in DE and headquartered in NJ couldn't be sued in CA state court. CTXS is incorporated in DE and headquartered in FL. CTXS will be able to move this case to federal court where Egnyte will find out what it means to be slapped by someone's pimp hand.

A management flunky speaks out. Right let's not have empathy on a layoff site for workers who were laid off. That dump that you are referring to where Egynte has its HQ is California a state that has laws to protect workers unlike Florida that treats workers as indentured servants. You identify with management against your own interests. Help is available. Isn't it ironic that former H1b holders are paying to defend American workers against Citrix an America company that treats workers as disposable units of production. Management isn't safe either. Citrix forced out Sharefile founder Jessie Lipsom too. Good luck.

@1fmr Thank God the judicial system in the US is based on laws and not on feelings. Take your empathetic legal theories back to your third world dump.

Some Citrix shills are on here think that former employers should control where you can work. There are 10 people being sued. Some were laid off and some left upon hearing rumors of coming layoffs. That really doesn't matter. Non compete agreements are not allowed in California. Florida is still pro employer and allows them. We will see who prevails. I don't think it will be Citrix. They are looking like thugs.

Clearly the poster did not read the article. The individual was not laid off but left a month before the layoffs of her own accord. Sue Egnyte back to the Stone Age...
