As far as voting...this is a red state and oil will keep it that way. Be thankful. Most of this post is pure fiction. No list and no consideration of making on at this time.
Well if you work in Houston America not existing would possibly push you to an existential crisis... Or you would just get on an be in the remaining 95% of the world...

It seems like a poorly run management training school in SLB. Lots of over educated, unaccountable, fancy dressed monkeys running around not having a clue what they are there or what they should be doing...
SLB has layoffs built into our standard operating procedures, hire, hire, fire, fire, drill, sell, hire, fire, drill, sell, fire, fire, hire, fire... it works just like that...
There are dozens of rats arround me, and all they do is backstabbing and isolating productive people.
We all know most of layoffs arround US were act of these rats.
They absolutely do nothing beside having closed door unnecessary talk. They have not been involved in any work for a decade!

It's official. There will be layoffs I 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, etc., etc., etc. just do yourself a favor and find a better job.
Those hired laterally at Punay India for software/IT/admin roles are safe.
People at risk are those who:
(1) have worked for the company for many years and sacrificed the prime of their lives and relationships,
(2) have missed anniversaries, child births, birthdays of spouses, children and family --- all because they were away on company business,
(3) question anything today

If you have no degree, pack your bags because they will not fire degree holder's. They actually think they can run the whole company with managers, "we want to be the best managed company in the world ". It is actually comical at times watching people with no experience pass decisions on something they know nothing about.
One of my close friend is teamlead, he was saying they have ranked team untill q3 2018, although if someone is not in cash generation external project then he will be laid off sooner.
I also heard if you are female and pregnant you will be able to postpone the layoff if you are in termination pending list! Someone I know is been delivering in a row for 3 years now!
You can apply for medical leave due to stressful environment and health issues! Yes it works.
If anyone thinks he/she will be fired, then the chances that it is going to happen is really high.
I would suggest to have plan B always.
So they don't fire you today! There's always tomorrow! Maybe 1/10,000 gets to retire from slb. Everybody else gets fired at some point in one way shape or form. Ask Gould! He was terminated due to age. Plenty of money but still fired. Those that"survive" are usually the lowest life forms around.
