Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

December layoffs are just a rumor

I keep seeing references to December layoffs. Where is this information coming from? During meetings with several high-level VPs about the direction Citrix will be taking, none of this was alluded to.

Same, @PErRRcd-dgq, no indication whatsoever. People are stressing before they even know something is going to happen. Not saying its impossible, but at this point, save your health instead of worrying about something that is just a rumor.

December layoffs don't make sense from business point of view. It costs money, so do it in one go?

December was probably misquoted in a context of the process will be finished by then. It makes sense - all of the restructuring cost is taken this year, so the books look better in 2018. Doing it in December means some cost would be offset against 2018.

I hope I'm wrong though. It's time to jump ship, so hope at least we get a nice severance package.

I guess since this site said it and historically this site has been pretty darn accurate, the smart ones know that more is coming. However I, personally, do believe the comment about it getting pushed to 2018... so.. 9 more months until more departments are restructured into unemployment.

Let's also be honest, when you read "restructuring" you don't think "oh sh--, I am going to get fired". But going forward, I will for sure always read "restructuring" as "jump ship, this sh-- hole is sinking"

When you're told one thing will happen in Q2, then in Q3 told it won't, you tend to believe the latest news.

@PFSmYJN-1mwd All contradicted when DH actually said in his first GEM “there will be no big lay off event”

I'm not sure what you people are talking about.. in Q2 Earnings report and through an internal email it was pretty clearly spelled out that there will be some restructuring. If you can't be bothered with reviewing the earnings report or hell reading exec emails when they send them then that's on you.

But a restructuring was in the works shortly after DH took office, and he quite clearly came out and said as much.

Did we have indications from management back in June/September regarding October layoffs? Did we have indications for the past 3 layoffs?

Its not a about streesing out and jumping ship. Its about been ready and be smart about your decisions for the next 3-6 months. That is, use your insurance for any health problems you put in the back burner, do not get into new debt, get some certifications or training if you need to, connect with people about other jobs, talk to those that were impacted to have an idea of the job market and necessary skills, have a plan B...

if nothing happen, the above will only put you in a better place and if something does happen then you are not caught by surprise.
