Walmart will continue its aggressive layoff pace beyond the end of this year. HR has confirmed that this is the new normal and as Walmart evolves, so will it’s teams and structures. Seems that will counteract the new practice of keeping associates locked into their positions for 2-3 years. If they want to maintain tribal knowledge, they need to maintain the tribe. They should just admit it’s all about the almighty dollar.

It's not just ISD. It's merchandising and replenishment/planning/BA/pricing/modular as well.
The VP over all the merch support groups seems to be on a mission to riff as many of his team as possible. I bet his associates throw a party if he ever leaves. He looks like Chris Farley. Very much "fat man in a little coat."
ISD is a satellite office now all the highest leadership in California what do you expect?
