I can not Believe that Macys is asking their employees to donate their PTOs to the victims of Hurricane Harry.This multibillion dollar company cannot pay their Houston employees ??Why doesn't The CEO and major stockholders donate their bonuses .Unbelievable !! Jeff Gennette is that making magic!Pay your employees; Shame on you .

@P43dG7Y-7wbm, that's really nice if you do that, but I wonder how big your store is. In my store it would not be physically possible for an SM to do fulfillment in the morning with several hundred picks piling up. Not to mention they cut our SM's down to the barest minimum imaginable. You couldn't pay me to be one.

@P43 i totally understand your frustration at the store level of doing bops and FuFilment. I would ask where your manager is? I manage several areas in my store and my associates know if I am

Scheduled in the morning I go to the areas and do the BOPS and picks myself so they do not have that weighing on them ontop of helping customers. I go into ringer mode and I ring for my associates while they are assisting guests. I open credit and Thanks for Sharing for them as well. Just reading what everyone has posted makes me believe that it's the quality of management that is affecting things. Your manager should be there for you. When I leave for the day, I go knowing I did all I could to set my associates up for success and they know I am there for them and only want the best for them.

Then hire more people to handle so called warehouse,doing bops when your the only person covering lots of area no wonder why the customers complain about Macys.

I agree the pay structure needs to change and we need to be paying a higher hourly rate to retain quality staff. Online sales and pulling items is not going away, it gets bigger and bigger each day. Utilizing our stores as warehouses is what is keeping our stores open and supplying us all with a paycheck and a job. As I have told my associates embrace it and go with the flow. Being upset about it, hating coming to work and complaining is not going to change a thing. It just makes it worst. If you do not like the direction of things or cant adapt than perhaps it's time for you to make some decisions as to if this is the right career or job for you. We all have a choice.

Don't get me started with how bad a company Macys is to work for here it is : Working for company over 14,years. Commission v Draw employee. Women's shoes. Have not ever received a raise!!! That's right folks. Their reasioning is we make commission. Well , here is some info: The fact is these days most of us do not make commission and if we do its penny's . Why, because we are doing everything except selling ! Doing fulfillment every morning when customers are present , Doing returns,exchanges, payments etc. How can we make commission if we are stuck at the register for hours taking cartons of returns from the internet? Find a manager to help us ? That's a joke . First try to find one . You can't because their doing 20 things . If you do find one they will try to get out of it by telling you it's your job to take returns!,

Yes ,but then how can I make commission if I am behind a resister all day?..

Macys ..... Take all draws away, and pay your sales associates a decent WAGE!,

Maybe then you will get quality people who will want to work and build a future with this company.

You know the expession : You get what you pay for. The quality of employees that my store is employing is a joke. They are young inexperienced and lazy!,

Macys keep this up and you will be closing not 100 more stores but all of your stores . Good luck to my fellow associates. I'm finally retiring had enough. Maybe after working for them for 14 yrs they will have their associates chip in and give me a PTO or better yet a candy bar!!!!

Jeff Gennette work in one of your stores as an associate and you probably would resign in 1 hour.

Macys has been LOW for awhile. Don't get me started with charities. They make it seem like they are always giving and the truth is the employees are the ones giving! Bag hunger, united way ; asking employees for donations through payroll deductions or having bake sales. If it wasn't for their dedicated employees, Macy's wouldn't give charity a dime. I'm glad I don't work for that DIRTY TIRED SHADY company anymore! And I stopped shopping there a long time ago. All those making magic signs are a lie. "You can color it however you want but the inside is rotten"

It was posted on insite the other day. A link to the message was there when I signed in. I also find it funny that they're having us round up at the register while not being willing to do the right thing for it's own employees. Whenever management as how I'm feeling during a coaching, my answer is that I feel like a number instead of a person and that the company does not support its employees. This is a perfect example. Macys does not get the fact that us associates are their most valuable asset. Without us, they're wouldn't be any magic. the company needs to value its people more if it wants to survive. Plain and simple. (Funny, we only get an actual real week of PTO outside of the 40 for sick after being here almost 5 years. I couldn't donate time! I wouldn't have any left!)
