Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

no update

I've come to the conclusion that there is nothing else going to happen in the clubs this year as far as positions. I think the company is loosing more money than they thought with shrink and now at our club membership is down and plus members are getting refunds because anyone can shop early and everyone get instant savings. the want to compete with Amazon but they don't have a good enough website or systems. they must go cheap. They can't even get the wire to work right. This company is going in a downward spiral.

I also feel bad for the NH club but I think there is another one up there that's not to far behind. I wish all of you the best of luck.

This website has kept me up at night worrying about what's going to happen but at this point I'm done with it

Wal-Mart bought jet.com. to try to gain web sales. They give a discount if you order on line at Walmart.com and pick up at store. They have reserved about 10 parking spaces right up front for them to bring stuff to your cars. Publix and many other stores will deliver to your door. Kroger has click list for you to pick up. Brick and Mortar needs to change with the times. That's why they are cutting where they can. Agreed some go shopping where customer service excels but that is unaffordable in larger stores the size of Wal-Mart, Targets etc. Even malls are suffering. Price is what's driving sales. You can check your phone while shopping in a store and if you find a lower price order from the cheaper location while standing in your competitors store. Who cares how nice you are to me while I'm buying eggs and milk.?Just get me in and out of there as quickly as possible. Big Box retailers are not for customer service anymore. Sad but true. Retail is changing guys....and so is the business model at Sam's.

people are shopping where it's convenient, have what they want and cheapest. i have no idea how kroger or target or home depot or any retailer treats their employees I will shop the store for what it sells. that said, it does seem sam's may let this rif wait till early next year. the past has shown it usually happens about march just after ybm. hopefully not

I totally agree I'm tired 😴 of worrying about this company. You are absolutely correct only a matter of time before we are like Kmart/ Sears etc....I truly believe that people are shopping where they treat it's employees descent.
