This seems like a group Intel has to keep legacy VHDL Design Engineers employed.

@3cop - "Yes man" culture is a TMG thing that has now infected the whole company, thanks to BK and his bromo Josh. Constructive criticism is well in the past now, and that is precisely why Intel is failing.
ICF new leadership spends more time
Dreaming up strategy and so little focus on operations and execution. They are also "yes men" to you all know who and dare not voice the truth about the process technology gaps that potential customers are pointing out on why they don't sign-up and stay with TSMC. All good questions posted above.
Altera is a forced customer, intel couldn't find any customers so they spent billions to buy a customer 😂🤣
Altera is a substantial customer for ICF.
Is it justified to keep ICF going without any tangible revenue stream?
Does everyone suggest that ICF is running for the sake of it ?? That is sad state of affairs !!
Wake me up when the Intel modem team actually uses an Intel fan instead of TSMC.
Doesn't ICF have thousands of people, what does intel have to show for all those thousands of many years, anything?
@1siz - Hasn't this been the issue for years? ICF has been around in some form or another for more than a decade, and they have never signed a substantive customer. I know some good people in there and they swear great things are happening.
But they are not.
TSMC is ahead in a metric that actually matters - volume.
Samsung semiconductor is ahead in profit.
If ICF was so great and far ahead - where are the non-CPU designs. Intel's modem team won't even use them. What does that tell you?
I'm sure that Mediatek and Qualcomm would love to leapfrog Apple which uses TSMC, but they don't choose ICF? Why?
Is there still a three year lead? 14nm and now 10nm took much longer to go into production than planned. Has TSMC made faster progress?
Intel process has a three year lead on anything out there if you believe the PowerPoints out there from Manufacturing Days. It is so good that nobody of any substances designing or needing leading edge is interest hmmm why is that ?

My guess is that intel foundry has been showcasing the intel process tech as "industry leading" to potential customers and in that process exposing intel's gaps in power/performance relative to competition - is this the reason they have not been able to sign-up any major customers to date? PTD refuses to acknowledge the gaps and continues to blame the internal design teams for their incompetence to fully exploit the process technology. They make everyone drink their cool-aid but fail to recognize that they can't hide for long....
The custom foundry has done more damage to Intel by displaying unnecessarily the TMG proprietary crown jewels. In this day and age where you should be hiding them.
