Yes, companies are focusing on core competencies. Billing systems, websites, retail systems and data centers are not a Verizon core competency. It is the telecommunication business and the technology that is associated with it like '5G' and not VISION billing or MY VERIZON!
IBM has taken over part of VDSI. A picture was sent showing a sign saying. IBM Welcomes Verizon employees.
IBM bought the mainframe but that was a year ago.
Datacenters? Looks like this is coming very soon.
I think Orangeburg Mainframe group was bought out by IBM, so far.....
"I was told IBM bought out an IT dept in oburg ny office and they were given a 12 month work contract and no vz severance."
Wow, do you know which dept?
I was told IBM bought out an IT dept in oburg ny office and they were given a 12 month work contract and no vz severance.
We should merge with them.
In that case we can both fail faster.
Look at their board here on layoffs dot com
They are worse than US
Just a bunch of unhappy and exploited peeps
IBM is a sad place...
That has been rumored for years I give it a 50% chance only because I doubt it will actually save them money
Open systems, yes

What's left if I.T. to outsource? Most of it is in Verizon of India anyway....UNLESS IBM is taking over the Datacenters, then I would say very possible.
